    Filleted Like a Fish :)
I had one of those too, Mark

Mine might be just a 2-3" below where they started on you - boy, they sure go "South" aways, don't they?

Sounds good the way things are going - your medical team and staff sound exemplary - that's always a good thing.

Now, the fun part - recovery - best wishes here and speedy healing.

    Good Job
Well you got the surgery out of the way, now on to healing. Do you know how long you will be there? Hopefully you will have good travel weather for your trip back to Sault St. Marie. Very minimal snow here in southeast Michigan and even less in Mid-Michigan but it is really, really cold. We will be traveling there tonight for the weekend. Good luck in your recovery. Tina

    Cleveland Clinic
    Mark,

I'm glad you had a wonderful experience. The Cleveland Clinic ia a wonderful place. I have a friend that was cured from stage IV lymphoma there and is a 12 yr survivor! I will see you in 12 years, right?

You're lucky they even took you as a patient with that Tigers shirt on. I hope you don't wear that in enemy territory! (from one fan to another hehe)

Long slice Mark. A lot of staples! Ouch...

I hope your recovery goes well.

    Split open like a watermelon
I like your expression "filleted like a fish." I tell people that the surgeon "split me open like a watermelon." My incision was only about 6" in length, but for someone only 5 feet tall that's a long incision. Humor is my way of trying to convince people to get colonoscopies (so they don't have to be split open like a watermelon.)

Great news from a great place -- my wife has been in their care since diagnosis last July, and had her APR done there in late November. We've had nothing but great experiences there....and are hoping for a new set of them as she begins 8 rounds of Folfox in the basement of the Taussig Center in about an hour.

Hope you had a great experience on H50 -- I know that we certainly did.

My hubby had his colon resection surgery last April. He has a 1" scar several inches on the left of the belly button, a 1" scar several inches on the right of his belly button and about a 3" to 4" scar just above. Sometimes they can do the surgery without splitting someone open, just depends on what they have to do. Good luck with yours - Tina
