My husband is a HUGE sports fan (Horse racing, Redskins, LA Angels & Wash Caps), so for Christmas I got two VIP Tickets to the first Wash Caps Care Casino Night which took place on Sunday, 24 Jan.

We got a room at the Hilton Hotel where the activities were taking place and got a chance to get all dressed up (cocktail attire) for the event. He looked sooo handsome.

The VIP Ticket holders were allowed a one-hour meet and greet with the entire team, coaches, owner and alumni players, so we took our jerserys and received our authographs. It was cool to see his face. He was like a kid and the first trip to the candy store.

What was the coolest part of the evening was the casino night. Once the VIP Reception was over, everyone was allowed into the ballroom for the casino portion of the evening, so my husband went for the food and I went to a blackjack table. I was the only player there until my husband joined me. Part of the package deal was $50,000 in fake money to gamble with.

Here comes the best part, the next thing we knew here comes Alex Ovechkin(#8) and Alexander Semi (#28) to our table to play. My husband got to play Blackjack with Alex and Semi. He was smiles all night.

The Washington Capitals website had the table picture with my husband as the main photo on their website for the event.

I have added the photo to my expression page. Once I get all pictures developed, I will add additional.

My husband and I both agree, that ever since my DX, treatment and follow-up, that God has given us one life with many choices to be made, but enjoy the life he has given.

Just wanted to post some life news.

    Thanks for posting this. We are avid Toronto Maple Leaf fans, with my 16 year old daughter being the most avid (she plays on 2 teams as well). She also loves the Capitals & especially Oveshkin (sp?). She would be very jealous to know that you & your husband got to play blackjack & have your picture taken with Oveshkin! That was a fantastic gift for your husband; I am glad you both enjoyed yourselves!
