Oatmeal Smoothie
I came across this recipe and tried it with good results. With some tweaking, it might lend itself to a green smoothie. As it is, it is quite good.
Oatmeal Smoothie
1 C. Soy Milk
1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
1 Banana
15 Strawberries
1/2 t. Vanilla Extract
Agave to taste
In a blender, blend oats to make a more smooth consistency. Add all remaining ingredients and blend. Add a handful of ice cubes (or use frozen strawberries).
What an easy way to get some oatmeal into your diet! I was intrigued with this because I have another recipe that uses oatmeal as a thickener in a tomato soup, but it had not occurred to me to try it in a smoothie. (Anyone interested in the tomato soup recipe?)0 -

God Grant me the will to open up the Jack LaLaine Juicer that a friend of the family so generously sent me and to pull up my Big girl panties and learn to swallow the brine, I mean the juice.

my Champion
Thank you for posting this!! I'm all ears!!
I now have a Champion 2000 and I really like it. It works well, is fairly quiet, and cleans up very easily! The only thing is the screen is kind of tricky to line up when putting it together. It seems like it's well made and that I'll be getting use out of it for a long time. Emily- or anyone else with this juicer- do you use the "homogenizing" feature or make smoothies or shakes with it? I still have to figure out how to do that.
Well, thanks again for the info and the archives!

Isn't that a bugger sometimes? Even after 8 1/2 years I have to line it up just so in order to attach it.
I have never used the juicer to make smoothies or ice cream though I've heard they're good. i just use the blender for smoothies. though these days I'm not even doing smoothies. But that's another story.....
If you use it let me know how you do it. My directions are long lost.....
bottoms up!
