There is apparently a Facebook app that sends notifications to friends without notifying that they are doing it. Here is what happened to me tonight and I am so upset that I am in tears about it! I received a notification from a relative that she had commented on my "funny grave." So I wanted to see what she had commented on before I went ballistic. Well, no sooner did I click on the app, then another notification popped up. Apparently, by clicking on this app, you automatically send the SAME daggone notification to EVERYONE in your friend's list. I'm beside myself! I never gave this app permission to send notifications to anyone and I don't know how to recall them! PLEASE don't think that I was this mean spirited or callous! At least, I now know that my relative also wasn't being callous and awful!

I am so sorry! PLEASE don't click on this notification!

    Facebook apps
    Hi All

I am always VERY cautious about any of the multitude of Facebook mini apps -- they all require you're blanket 'ok' to access friends info, content, etc. on you profile in order to use them. For the most part many exist only as marketing vehicles with a 'play' component to draw users in. I'm not really overly paranoid, just have taken online web marketing strategies courses.

    My opinon
That is why I don't go to that site....don't enter it. One of my grandaughters had a past boyfriend that really stalked her and she had to get off...... too intrusive. So far this site has been a safe place for me.

    Permisions
On your facebook home page, you can edit permissions to all your applications if you go into "Settings" - near Log Out on the top border, then select "Application Settings"-that will give you list of all Applications you've used, and will give you an option to Edit Settings - there is an option to Bookmark the application, and another called Additional Settings that enables the application to post a story to your wall; if your friends/relatives have a feed for your stories set, they'll see it.

I've notice that there's been a pop up at the beginning of my using applications asking for permission to send email notifications for my activity there. I've allowed a couple, but am going to choose to not select that option when offered. I hope I can unselect the two that I've allowed so far!

    Saundra......

Does your granddaughter know that you can lock down your FB page so that no one can see anything, unless you give permission? That is one of its best features. And you can block people who try and "friend" you, or by their email address.

    I don't accept friend requests from anyone I don't know/can't identify.
