I am with you DonnaShayenne said:Whew..
I Believe $140 bucks a night is a bit steep for me, (I'm poor lol) I'm sure it's a really nice hotel though, and wish I could attend, I was looking at air-fare tickets before, and there are some pretty good deals out there I could probably get, but the hotel part is alittle expensive for me I may have to sit this one out
Hugssss!
~Donna
If I could even afford airfare there would be no money for a room. But I would love to go. I am trying to figure it out though. My husband is even jazzed he reads over my shoulder sometimes. I think he's jealous of the great camaraderie we have here.

consider staying!Sundanceh said:Stacy, Don and Jo Ann Smith
I live in Arlington, Texas - which is right down the interstate from me about 20 miles - so this would be great for me to be able to attend my 1st Palooza in my "home state."
If it is held here, I would certainly come, but live so close that I would just drive to and forth from home and would not rent a room.
But for the rest of the group, your info is correct - the hotel is nice, the rates are good, Sundance Square is wonderful - Cowtown is just up the road in Historic Forth Worth. So, this would be a really nice time. Texans are great people and some of the friendliest around - the weather is very good in October, so there's nothing to have but a good time.
The dates are great for me - if it's Forth Worth, then Howdy and Welcome Semi;Colons. So, I'm on board with Fort Worth, but it's not up to me. Great job on your homework and all you said is absolutely true.
Take care
Big Tex

It's a ball to stay with everyone! consider at least one night!0 -

Suites at the hotel
Don and JoAnn are going to ask for discount rates for the suites also since they usually have 2 rooms with the living area usually having sofa bed making it much easier to share a room.
Looks like we could have all the specifics about the dates and hotel rates as soon as tomorrow.

I had sent you a quick note asking what supplements you had taked after you met with your other naturopath doctor, did you receive it ?
I get asked this alot so I am working on adding it to my profile so folks can access it quicker.
I used to have it all written up for email but lost it when my old laptop died. I will not list manufacturers of anything publicly and hope to remember it all...........durn chemo brain.

Katie,
Where have you been?????? I don't know when I talked to you last....in fact, it was easily 2 Paloozas ago...WAY TOO LONG!!! If you're around tomorrow night, I'll track you down. I'm sure there are lots of things to catch up on!!
Hugs,
Stacy
I know! It has been such a long time since we've talked! I worked yesterday/last night, but I will be home tonight, nursing a flu bug/cold...sigh.... Give us a call - we would love to catch up. And hey, when you're sick of that northerly cold, come see us in the warm and sunny Florida Keys!
Non-viral hugs to you....Katie0 -
Invitation
You know, I think I forgot to mention that Colon Paloozas are open to EVERYONE affected by Colon Cancer. Survivors, Caregivers, Spouses of those who have left us, and those still active in the battle. Do not let the fact that you feel like you won't know anybody stand in your way of coming. Everyone is greeted with warmth and friendship.
I personally have missed out on the last two due to my work schedule. That is making me really look forward to this one! Please consider coming....or else you'll have to wait a whole year to attend another one.
Happy Saturday!!!!!!!

Tough to plan
For a lot of us dealing with the daily battle, running into financial troubles, and not able to plan schedules, it is impossible to committ to something with substantial cost that doesn't happen till next fall.
I'd love to attend, but it will depend on my children's schedules, my work schedule, and my health at that point. In a perfect world, I'll be done with chemo, cancer free, and will have gotten my business and finances back on track so I can afford to go. I normally have a work trip the end of October that would be easy to make a stop in DFW on the way, but your dates are too early. So it may come down to business priorities in the end anyway, because I highly doubt I'll be able to afford two trips in a row. But you never know. It just isn't anything I can committ to now.
(I get industry rates which make it very hard for me to pay convention rates if I don't need to, especially if my budget is tight, which right now is BEYOND tight, and I have enough friends in the area that I'd likely stay with them anyway.)
This has to be a very hard event to plan and get strong committments for under the circumstances of so many of us undergoing treatments and not sure at all what the fall will bring. It sounds like you've had some very successful events in the past, so I'm sure this one will be too.0 -

We as a group always have a tough time planning, but try to come if you can manage it, we really have a wonderful time and lots and lots of laughs which we all need on our journey. For example, we just went to FL to join our daughter and her family at WDW. Our plane left DFW(Dallas/Ft. Worth) at 6:15am on Saturday, and as soon as we landed in Orlando we had a message saying that my mother had passed away. We got back on another plane and headed home. Even making plans doesn't always work, but try to attend, and you will enjoy it so much! The first CP I went to was in Nashville and Don and I decided that if we didn't like the group we would just have our own good time, but we found out that the "semi-colons" were "semi-normal", and we have now been for the last 3 years making friends from all over the country. Love my semi-colon friends!! Hope that all of you will at least keep it in mind and maybe decide to come.

Bump
Just want to bump this up so everyone can see it and make their plans. There seem to be alot of people willing to share a room, I think that is great, we can all help out, I may not be able to share a room but I can buy someone some food or whatever might be needed. I am so excited to go, I cant wait..

Colon Palooza Newbie!!!
Well, I just heard about this and myself and what is left of my colon are totally excited!! I CANNOT wait to meet you guys! It will be nice to meet fellow colon cancer survivors, in my home state. I also, living so close and having 4 children, would most likely be staying at home and driving in for events. However, I might be able to get an overnight sitter for one night and join the party for a full 24 hours!! Are there rooms still available? I know I am getting involved at such a late date...0 -

Look on the list of posts for CP8, all of the info is there and then call the hotel for a room. I feel sure you can still get one.
I live in Mansfield. Look forward to meeting you. Jo Ann0 -
