We met our new Radiation Oncologist today and were very impressed. He came out to visit with us before the simulation for the radiation. Very straightforward and up front about what we are facing and the way he's going to treat Jim. This was a very good day; we feel more confident. We also visited the Proton Therapy Center and got our parking pass. Therapy begins a week from today!

    hey Sally and Jim, Thanks for the update. That is great. Best of luck with the treatment next week. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Take dad to UVA on the 28th to discuss chemo treatments for the mets to his liver. Hope all goes well for us too!

    Isn't the center amazing?
    You will meet so many friends there. You never know, with you starting now...no, we won't be there to see you bang the gong :( But we will be thinking of you all the time!

    I am so glad you like the new radiologist. I hear great things about Dr. Lin.

    Are you coming back for
    Are you coming back for chemo? Or have you decided to do it there? We were very impressed with everyone
    we met at both places. We felt much more confident after our meetings today. I really think Dr Lin is ready to
    fight this WITH us! Praying for Layne and you too.
