kapper48 spouse-want to say thanks
We have a HUGE support system through our family and friends, they have been more than wonderful. I know that neither one of us could have dealt with everything that has happened over the past two years without them. But none of them know exactly what he is going through since they are not here on a daily basis. Sure they offer him words of encouragement and are there to listen to him when he needs them to but noone knows what it feels like to be in his situation. Even I don't. As the "caregiver", all I can do is be there for him and help him get through all of this no matter what that entails the best way I know how. But at the same time it is a very helpless feeling knowing you can't do anything to help the person you love feel better and to watch them go through something as horrible as this disease. I know that myself and everyone else in his life do help him in many ways, but I don't think that anything has helped him get through this any more than being able to talk to all of you. You understand because you are or have experienced what he is going through first hand.
I guess I just wanted to tell each and everyone of you thank you for being there for him. Thank you for talking to him and offering your opinion or advice. Thank you for all your words of encouragement during the times when he feels like giving up. Thank you just for the simple thing of being there for him in the very special way that you are. Thanks a million times.
Carrie

It's really awesome to meet you! We love Pat, and love when the caregivers also come to chat with us, you just never know with this cancer what it will do next, it's always one thing after another, and we're here to be with you as well! I've heard people live with this disease for many years, and we all hope we do, we're all brothers and sisters here in cancer including our wonderful caregivers. We know how hard it is you to watch the pain, but I believe from your post your a wonderful one, and a very strong one, my husband is my angel, as well as my 4 children!
We hope to hear from you! please post whenever you need to chat, we are all here for you and Pat!
Hugsss!

HI
Carrie,
Pat is a warrior and from what I know of him is a very REAL and genuine man with a lot of compassion - he seems to be an ez going guy.
We are all hoping that things go well for him in this chapter of his life - and we are all pulling for his complete recovery!

You brought tears to my eyes!!!
Thank you, Carrie, for your kind words. We are all extended family here...the best 'been there/done that' group around! And, as far as hope, well, we have many here that have beaten all the odds, and are living life...
Hugs also to you for being there for him. One of the hardest things is standing by, and having to watch a loved one struggle, knowing there is nothing that you can do except offer emotional support...
Hugs, Kathi0 -

I am new to this site ,found it by mistake and one of the only times in my life I can say best mistake I ever made. It has helped me through some trying times and your husband always has words that sink in and make sence. Welcome to our family and we look forward to you doing more posting.0 -
Hi Carrie,
Thanks for all
Hi Carrie,
Thanks for all the kind words for all the great people here. It is an unbelievable support group, of which Pat (& now you) are part of. I have been very impressed with Pat's attitude, & how encouraging he is to others even when he is waiting for his own results etc. I wish all
the best to you & Pat.0 -
thanks Carrie
Hi Carrie,
Welcome & it's nice to "meet" you. Your words were very touching & that's how I feel about this site too. I recently had someone ask me if I was in a cancer support group. I told them about the website & they just didn't understand and told me how such a site couldn't possibly offer any real support. I told them they needed to check it out for themselves because it does, indeed, offer some great support!
You take care & I'm glad to hear you and Pat have such a great support system of people around you, too.

It's nice to
meet the better half of this partnership
This family here is the most supportive, giving, caring and understanding family you will find on the internet.
We are here 24/7, 365 days a year and never take a holiday or vacation. We don't believe in sick or annual leave. We believe in each other.
Feel free to join in anytime and provide support where you feel it would help.0 -

thats what were here for..There is also a caregiver thread if you like for sharing feelings with others like yourself about coping etc. I am sure with your ability and soothing tones that you could certainly help in that arena also. Clearly understand if your tied up though. This disease has a tendency to tie up a lot of time.
Oh I forgot, that will be $39.95 for the consult ...we got plane tickets to the Texas Colonpalooza to pay for........LOL .......Just kiddin'........Love and Hope for you and your new found family......Buzz0
