IM NEW TO THIS SITE , BUT VERY FAMILIAR WITH RCC, DX IN 2005 WITH TUMOR STAGE II IN MY LEFT KIDNEY, HAD RADICAL NEPHRECTOMY OF THE KIDNEY, 6 MONTH CHECK UP FOUND SMALLER TUMOR IN MY RIGHT KIDNEY, ANOTHER SURGERY PARTIAL NEPHRECTOMY AND ALLS WELL FOR 4 YEARS. REGULAR CHECK UPS, FEELING FINE, GOT USE TO ONLY HAVING 1 KIDNEY. DURING A CHECK UP IN SEPT 09 DR FOUND A SMALL NODULE IN THE BASE OF MY RIGHT LUNG 1.8CM, OK CAN DEAL WITH THIS PRETTY SCAREY BUT DOABLE, AFTER PET SCAN DONE MORE THAN ONE NODULE LIT UP. ANOTHER CT AND NUMEROUSE SMALLER SPOTS IN BOTH LUNGS SHOW UP. OK THINGS GET A LITTLE MORE SERIOUS, I WORK IN TH HEALTH CARE FIELD IN AN EMERGENCY ROOM, AND AN AMBULANCE, SO KEEPING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE CAN SOMETIMES BE DIFFICULT TREATING PEOPLE WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM CANCERS OF ANY KIND IS DIFFICULT TO DO KNOWING WHAT I KNOW AND KNOWING I MAYBE HEADING DOWN THAT SAME ROAD. SO ANYWAYS I HAVE BEEN ON SUTENT FOR 16 DAYS NOW, FUNNY HOW YOU FEEL FINE AND THEN GET SICK AFTER TREATMENT STARTS, ANY WAYS AM SEEKING MORE INFO FORM OTHERS WHO ARE ON OR HAVE BEEN ON SUTENT FOR MRCC....

    sutent
I was dx in dec 2007 with a 15 cm left renal cell carcinoma with metastasis to the lungs. I was orginially started on sutent as part of a clinical trial with cp675,206 in combination with sutent. The study was d/c due to unacceptable side effects. I was the first on the highest dose protocol. The lung mets shrunk to the point that I had 6 remaining nodules all less than 0.5mm. After a little over a year progression was noted in the nodules which is about average. I'm almost 2 years out now and have been on sutent continuously. Only one tumor seems to be progressing and it slowly thus far. Fatigue is my biggest complaint, followed by insomnia, GERD, and a dozen or so lessor symptoms. I continue to work half time and I continue to push ahead.
