I have...
I have not tried in a long time, but I have used the chat rooms before a few times. I have never seen more than a handful of folks in there at one time. I'm going to check right now and see if I can get in.
I got right in. There were quite a few people in there. They say that it has been down a lot lately, sometimes all day. They also said that it won't let some people in, so maybe the master/mistress will get you fixed up.0 -

I don't even know how to use the chatrooms. Does that mean we can get together and gab online? That might be fun. I'd have to have instructions in how to do it. And with me keep it simple.

Mary Ann....I tried to go there too, and found out that I had to install Java software...which I did. Then turn off your computer and sign back in....then I got right in.
Diane....Yes, we could all chat there if we set a certain time to "appear".
I was only on briefly and got bumped off, but then hit connect again and got right back in. I am a bit of a "nerd" when it comes to computers, but I did figure it out, so Diane, I am sure you can too!!

i just went in there before I checked the board. there were a fair number of people in there but I didn't recognize anyone's name and felt a bit uncomfortable. I just this site a couple of days ago and have been reading all the posts and so admire all you ladies. you seem to be such smart and positive people.
I was dx'd with uterine ca in Nov. 2008, had a radical hysterectomy 12/17/08 by laporoscope. gyn/onc. said I had a stage 1a endometrial ca. no rx needed. in april,2009 I started having abd. sx...lots of stuff...had optimal debulking surgery with a couple of colon resections, etc. I actually had stage 4 UPSC. then I had a 6 round course of carboplatin/taxol. doing great right now but really wanted to connect with others in the same situation since I have never met anyone with this before. You ladies have such an amazing network. while reading your posts, I feel for the first time that I found others who have gone through what I have gone through and can relate to what you say and laugh at the same things that we have gone through. I just wish I could talk in real time. Is there anyway we can set up a conference call ( i do have access to a conf call number that I can use privately) or is that not "allowed."

I just had an aha moment. Do any of you use Skype. You need a webcam and speaker. We could set up a conference call and actually see each other too!!
I agree that it Would be great to connect live. My skype address is my email address - daisyelder@comcast.net.

that would be great to see/hear you all, although I don't have a camera. I've used skype before, but it was long ago, would probably have to reinstall it.
hugs,

Diane, If your computer has speakers and a camera (my laptop has these built in) you can use Skype. The program is a free download. Check out Skype.com for info. It's pretty cool - Oprah uses it on her show to visit with guests who are at home!!!!0 -

I'd love to do that. I have so many questions and hate typing. my nephew just gave me a camera for the computer but I've not set it up yet and haven't used skype. I know it's easy. should we set up a possible time frame to shoot for to do this??
