I just had to make a comment on this topic. It seems that most of us are rather healthy eaters. Granted, I am a breast cancer survivor, but I'm really curious as to how many of us had additional stress right before we were diagnosed. I'm with Kathleen on the relation of stress and cancer. I've never actually seen documentation on the percentages. Has anyone else? Can we do our own little survey? I'm on the side of additional stress- yes!!

    I was a healthy weight,
I was a healthy weight, healthy eater, do not drink. I have anxious days from work and kid/husband but not long term stress. I did smoke 1/2 pack a day for many years. So I got OVCA, Stage 3C dx 7/09. I was going to quit for many years and quit cold turkey the day of dx.

    Major Stress prior to diagnosis
I had two years of major stress before I was diagnosed and am convinced that stress was a factor.
Mark me down for "yes". Saundra

    Cancer Diet
    Hi,

I have also been looking for the magic anti-cancer diet.

After a while all of the info gets a bit overwhelming. One theory I have run across many times is that cancer cannot in fact survive in a body that is in an alkaline state and teeming with oxygen at the celluar level.

I've also seen that the more acidic our bodies are; and the more lacking the cells are of oxygen, that cancers thrive under this condition without fail. Also that the reason they say for us to steer clear of sugars is because excess sugars coursing throughout our bodies, produce excessive amounts of insulin and that insulin encourages cell growth (both good and bad).

It goes on and on and on.

There is one book that was actually given to me by my physician, it's called "Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips." It's by Kris Carr and her story actually aired on TLC maybe about 2 years ago. This book helped me with so many questions about cancer. She's an awesome young lady and if she can find strength, good health and happiness with her rare form of cancer, it shows there is hope. The book however is a gem, because its has a wealth of knowledge regarding cancer nutrition from a first hand point of view.

    STRESS
This survey is interesting and I could add to it, but let's start a new topic.
