Heard It Through the Grapevine
That it was supposed to be in Fort Worth, Texas - which is my neck of the woods
That would be great and I could attend because it's only 25 miles away from me.
Don't hold me to this, but I remember reading a post and seeing my town in there, so it caught my eye.
If it is true, I would get to meet so many of you!

Palooza
Hi there
I've never been to one yet - but what it is a gathering of the Semi;Colons at different locations each year where we can all meet and talk to each other and celebrate life. It apparently started in 2005.
It sure sounds fun and it would be so cool if it were here in Texas this year...I'd get the opportunity to attend and see so many of the friends that I've made.
Nudgie's post kind of got me excited about it - I'm sure we'll hear more about this.

Yep Fort Worth, TX
Yep, I believe Fort Worth is the place! JoAnn Smith is this year's host. The location was decided @ the most recent palooza in Key West.
A Palooza is a FULL BLOWN celebration of life. Lots of hugs, drinking, laughs, drinking, tears, drinking...you get the idea!
So far they have been held in Biloxi, Mississippi; Las Vegas, NV; Austin, TX; Halifax, Nova Scotia; Nashville, TN; San Francisco, CA, and Key West, FL. Old timer veterans on here, did I miss any?????????????
Scouty and Lisa have been the only 2 on here to attend EVERY single one! (such troopers!)
We used to have a web site colonpalooza.com where all the pics were, but it's gone now.
If you get the chance to attend YOU MUST! An experience you'll never forget. It's nice to put voices and faces with names and stories!
Hugs to you all,

I will DEFNITELY be there this year - Cowtown is a great place, how wonderful that Fort Worth was chosen - so exciting!
Maybe it was your post that I read that referenced this.
BTW, Stacy, so nice to meet you - I've heard of your legend on the board and it's so great to talk to you who got this whole thing started.
I was on the 'net looking for info and I ran across a CSN article out there that showed YOU and Spongebob out in Vegas - I could see the Sphinx in the background of your pic. So that must have been the Luxor.
I'm so glad that you posted this.
Now, everyone come see me in my home state - this is really so cool.
Stacy - when is the date for the Palooza? I'll never get close to it than this year.
Thank you!

Nice to meet you too, Craig! I know there are a lot of us "veterans" from this site who lurk but leave the majority of conversations to you newer subscribers to "da club" here.
Yep, that pic you saw of SpongeBob & me were from the Vegas Palooza. In fact, if you Google in Images Colonpalooza, you're bound to find more of a lot of us.
I don't know the dates of this year's Palooza, but I'm confident that Joann will post details as they become available.
I'm making this year's trip since I've missed the last few due to work (Legal Assistant at a Medical Malpractice law firm). These events make this whole experience more tolerable, regardless of where a person is on this roller coaster gig.
Happy Thursday everyone!!!!

Been Diggin' - Got Some Palooza Updates
Semis;
Colonpalooza will definitely be in Fort Worth, TX. It looks to be in October 2010 and I'm trying to find out the dates now.
Kathi - no Coyote Ugly in Fort Worth, but in Cowtown there are plenty of bars similar. And of course, there is Billy Bob's Texas, which is the biggest honky tonk in our area. This place is huge, so you can get your "coyote" on there, that's for sure. Bras are optional, LOL
Stacy - I found JoAnn's post from CP9 and realized she was the one you were talking about. I've asked her if she could tell us the dates so we can make plans - when I hear something, I will definitely post it to the group.
Nobody ever comes to see me in Texas and now my new family is going to be coming my way - I could not be more thrilled and excited about this. Please, please come see me
The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You - and we're going to roll the Welcome Wagon out for all of you and show you some TEXAS hospitality - after all it's better and bigger here in Texas
That's all I know - take care!

CP8 Update
The little I know..........
Joann does want to have it in Ft Worth but she and her co-host Suzannchili are just contacting hotels to begin the group rate discussions. One thing they are waiting on is the home football schedule for TCU to come out (should be in the next 2 weeks). I think they are trying to see how much higher if at all rooms are during the state fair too. We do try to get the best rates at a nice hotel that is within walking distance of lots of things to do so no one has to rent a car.
Those that have been to Paloozas know that we can have a blast ANYWHERE, ANYTIME so lots to do isn't necessarily required but warm weather is!!! AND I'm getting a pretty cool collection of t-shirts too.
I have to tell y'all a pretty funny story about our last evening in Key West. We were back at the hotel around the pool just finishing up pizza we had ordered and all of us had on our CP7 t-shirts. A guy came over asking about "semi-colons" hoping we knew a little about colon maladies. Poor guy mentioned he was having some intestinal issues (minor ones) and we bombarded him about blood, pain, colonoscopies, cancer, oncologist, cancer centers etc, etc, he left pretty quickly with a totally shellshocked expression on his face. NEVER and I repeat NEVER ask a group of semi-colons about GI issues if you don't want graphic and detailed information over an extended period of time!!!!
I'm sure we'll be hearing more from them @CP8 soon so be patient.
Stacy I really hope you can make it this year...........you are due!!!!
Me, I hope I am lucky enough to be able to attend another one!!!

I would have loved to go to Key West, but my HS reunion was around the same time this year. However - Ft. Worth is very do-able! Since I work for a subcontractor for the BNSF Railroad, there are quite a few of them in Fort Worth that both Nick and myself want to put a face with the voice! I think a "vacation" is in order.....will definately be looking foward to meeting some of my extended family here.0 -
