Calling all Angels
I am also so very depressed...my son (who has been doing great and holding a job...but has been diagnosed with paranoid schitzophrenia has had a major psychotic breakdown...and there was nothing I could do but watch it all unfold. he now has been involuntarily commited and it has been quite a extremely difficult time for me. The mental health system really does suck! They wanted me to take him home with me in the midle of a episode! because they were not "staffed" well I told them I was not staffed either...plus my heart is breaking over it all. I pray now he will get the help he neds and be able to stabalise out and be back to my sweet son.
I love you all and could use your prayersnow my dear sisters in pink.

good care
Despite the bad beginning with the institution (hospital?) trying to turn your dear son away, with their help he will get better. You will eventually get your sweet son back. The drugs and knowledge of this condition have vastly improved in recent times. I hope they can find what triggered this breakdown. It's all about biochemistry now. I'm sorry you and he are going through this. And especially right now. You both need to focus on getting yourselves better. You and he and your family will be in my prayers.

Jackie, I'm so sorry to read
Jackie, I'm so sorry to read your year is not starting out well. It may not be what you wanted for your son but it's good to know he is getting the care he needs. Hopefully, through treatment, he will be well soon and able to become the productive person he was before the breakdown.
I also hope the antibiotics your using for your skin do the trick. We are a very strong army of women and we can overcome obstacles as they are put in our path. I'm sending strength to you for just this purpose.
Take care and here's a cyber (((hug))) that I hope can help too. We do care about each other!!0 -

My love and prayers are going out to you and your son as you go through this difficult time.
Even though I don't belong to a particular church or even religion right now, I do believe strongly in the power of prayer and have seen it at work many times over the past several years in my own life and the life of family and friends.
I'm so glad to hear how you stood up for your son to make sure they give him the care he needs. i agree that the mental health system needs a lot of help right now, but your son is blessed already to have you there to advocate for him.

Prayers Always
Jackie, you and Jace have been in my mind and prayers especially lately. What happened to you is unbelievable. The mental health care system is shameful. I have been relieved that at least Jace is not out in the cold, at risk of freezing, and also not with you. Remember, though, all you have been through this past year. You will get through this. So will Jace. This time last year you were facing chemo. And that time passed. So will this time. We are with you in heart and spirit.
Love you,
Moopy0 -
Oh sweet Jackie~ I can only
Oh sweet Jackie~ I can only begin to imagine what you are going through. I offer you my love, support, and empathy that your physical maladies clear up, and of course that the heartbreaking breakdown of your son resolves itself. I wish I had the magic for all of us...we can surely use it, can't we?
Love and healing to you and your son,

praying for you and your son
I am so sorry to hear your story. The mental health system does need more empathy and support for the families of patients. You are not in a condition to care for your son. You need to work on your own healing too. I pray the mental health staff will find compassion and give your son all of the help he needs and for you to get the healing you need.

Jackie... I am so sorry that
Jackie... I am so sorry that you are going through this all... please know that I will be keeping you and your son in my thoughts... and yes, prayers too. My father suffered from schitzophrenia too, I know how scary those episodes can be. Luckily they were able to stabilize them with medications. I agree, our mental health system is severely lacking not just in understaffing, but understanding as well. Hopfully they will be able to help and your son will be his loving self soon.
Hugs to you.

My heart goes out to you. I will pray for solution to be found for your son and your family.
As for hand infection, I hope your doctor monitors your lymphedema as well to be sure it does not go to lymphatic system.
I had developed an arm infection once and was immediately put on Keflex (Cephalexin).
Hugs,
