    Hi Serrana,

Thanks for asking. I don't know yet how it's working or not yet, but I'm feeling okay on it. A week ago I was excited that my CEA had stopped rising. I just got another one done, though, and it has risen again. Both Dr. Cantrell and Dr. Helton (my onc) told me not to worry about that though- it's too early in the treatment for it to mean much of anything. Dr. Cantrell told me not to worry if it goes up even more the next time that it's tested- that the treatment really takes a good 6-8 wks to kick in. So, I will try not to worry about it.
The interferon shots hit me differently. Sometimes I don't have any side effects at all and feel perfectly fine. Other times, I end up really groggy the next morning & it lasts into the afternoon. I've had some muscle and bone aches- but not most of the time. Weird how it's different with different shots. I've heard that from a couple of other people who are on the treatment too.

I should be due to get my next scan approx Feb. 12th & I have an appt. w/ Dr. Cantrell in Tenn. again on Feb. 16.

How are you doing, Serrana? Have you mostly recovered from your lung surgery?

    Take care,
    Lisa
