My dad has survived ec, but now has mets to his liver...what to expect?

Hello to all here, My dad is an esophageal cancer survivor, 11/08. Unfortunately the cancer has spread to his liver. Within the next few weeks we have to decide as a family whether or not to start the chemo treatments. There will be two treatments of irinotecan and cisplatin three weeks apart. Has anyone here had this chemo? If so, what were the side effects, and what were your results? Any and all information will be appreciated. Thanks.
