My Dad

My Dad was dianosed with HCC in November. He also has advanced Cirrohsis. The doctors cannot stage his cancer so we really don't know much about a prognosis. They recently put him on the Nexavar about a week ago. Surgery is not an option. Has anyone had experience with Liver Cancer and Advanced Cirrohsis? Everything I read tells me he old has 3-6 months to live. I really just need some answers.

    Hi and welcome. My dad was just dx with liver cancer. We are having to decide whether or not to start the chemo treatments. He has just survived esophageal cancer. Time to fight again!!
    darn it! With your dad's case, I would suggest getting a second opinion. Find a cancer center in your area that possibly specializes in liver cancer. Good luck to you. Prayers are being said.

    I am so sorry to hear that
    I am so sorry to hear that the cancer has come back to the liver. The liver is a nasty place to have cancer. I have done so much research on this that my brain is on overload. We did get a second opinion at the Cancer Institute and they said the same thing as the other doctor. It looks like Nexavar is the only option that we have at this time. Good luck to you too.
