I all, I am new here and am asking a question for my SO who was diagnosed with stage 4 laryengeal cancer 07/17/08 and has had chemo and radiation. He is having such a hard time swallowing and I am wondering if anyone out there knows of a synthetic saliva? I have many more questions but need more time to read some of this site. Thanks for any help you can give us.

Grace,
Thanks so much for answering my post so quickly. We are so frustrated with the medical community and I continually turn to the internet and fellow cancer patients for answers. The only thing prescribed was Clotrimazole (generic for Mycelex). These do absolutely nothing! They are tablets that just sit on Jims tongue but since there is no saliva, nothing happens. I will have to bring this up and see if his Dr is willing to give this a try.
Actually, I just found some Numoisyn that was given to Jim in liquid and tablet. Again, tablets did nothing but the liquid burned his tongue, so still no luck. Anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks again,
Carol
