Me and my boyfriend have rented a cabin for just us at our favorite lake... I am taking a gift basket full of goodies like godiva chocolates, cheese, crackers. It has a fireplace and we are bringing a bottle of champagne. He and I broke up about a month after my dx in May. His Dad had recently died and then my dx so neither of us could really be there for the other.. So we plan on putting this year behind us and move on to a new year full of hope and renewed strength in our relationship with each other...
So glad you and your boyfriend are moving forward. Good Luck to both of you and a Happy and Healthy New Year!! Hugs, Diane0 -

Usually, I work or stay home. This year I think I will go to a benefit that my hospital is having for our new cancer center.0 -

I know everyone knows this, but, I wanted to add for everyone to please be safe. Don't drive if you are drinking. I want everyone to be safe this holiday!

Sorry - Double Post!
My husband and I are staying home and celebrating together! We had offers to go to parties, but, we both just wanted a quiet evening together. So, I will prepare a feast, ice down the beer and wine and have movies for us to snuggle together and watch. Sounds perfect to me! Wishing everyone a safe and happy new year!

I love to watch the ball drop in Time's Square...cantthink said:Cozy up to a movie
We, hubby and I, got a copy of Tarantino's movie that's out on dvd, and we're going
to watch it and eat cheese, artichoke dip, and whatever else sounds decadent!
(on TV, of course). How corny is that?! I will do that again this year, if I can stay awake. I also plan to work my church community's archives, so I will probably finish that project up on NY's Eve. Doesn't that sound like fun?
Okay, I suppose I don't have too many takers on that one. But, I'll say a special toast for a healthier New Year for all of my friends here while I sip my glass of cranberry pomegrante juice and the ball falls

Hey LeanneZhentup said:Very quiet here
I'll be spending New Year's alone. No partying for me! On Christmas Eve Day I had my appointment for labs and it felt so good outside! My car died about the same time as surgery so I'm not driving. But I was out with a friend on the 24th. She took me for some very tame shopping, browsing at the local dollar store. I had to do some grocery shopping so we went to the local WalMart where I rode a scooter. After I got home and put away groceries, another friend brought by some KFC. I ate only 1 piece.
Later that night I started to feel the errors of my ways! The chicken purged itself and my body told me to sleep. I slept most of the next 2 days and finally today I feel somewhat normal. Much joking is being done of my being a real party animal, so I plan to see the New Year in horizontally!
It might be different if I didn't live alone but as it is, my health will be first on my list of things to take care of.
Have fun for me!!!
Leanne
I want to wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year!

The Times Square ball drop, and the Rose Parade!!!
There is another, dutch ball that drops. So that is sort of covered...but I'm going to attempt to watch the rose parade on the internet...it's always so beautiful!
We bought our fireworks, and got a ticket for 8 free oliebollen (fritter-like things filled with raisins, made fresh right in front of us)...mmmmmm....with plenty of powdered sugar....
And then...there was MORE powdered sugar last night....IT SNOWED!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!

We are going out to dinner to a very nice restaurant. I bought a beautiful new outfit that was just begging for me to buy it. lol This restaurant has private rooms and my hubby got us one. He said he wants me all to himself, so, that is what he is getting. lol I really just want a quiet evening to say goodbye to this year and to toast in the new year. I am praying that all of us have good health in the new year and that a cure for bc is getting very, very close. Happy New Year bc sisters!

I love the wishes
Jeanne
I love the wishes with sparklers. How beautiful and what a nice way to start the new year. And Kathi, wow, what fireworks. Put my name on a popper, please. Chen, a dinner dance with your best guy, how fun. There are lots of great things going on. Well, for the past several years, Den and I have been sound asleep when the New Year begins. This year is no exception. We used to party, years ago but now it is just a quiet evening and voila we wake up to a new year, a new beginning, a hopefully better year for all of us. So for those who have big plans or small plans, enjoy. And for those like me, have a good night's sleep. LOL
Stef
Your New Year's Eve with Den sounds perfect! I love the "new beginning"! Hoping you get that "good night's sleep"! Happy New Year Sweet ♥Stef♥!

Considering that I am done
Considering that I am done with treatments, I think I will have a drink or two. My husband and I used to go out to dinner and then my sister-in-law's party but since we got our Jack Russell Terrier we can't go out and leave him alone. He is petrified of fireworks and we always seem to have an abundance of that in our neighborhood. Bless his heart, but he just walks around panting and literally shaking. So, we will stay home to keep him company and ring in the new year. Have a wonderful time everyone and be safe!!0 -

We are having a quiet nite at home. My husband is going to go get us a pizza and I already got a couple of movies for us to watch. I just finished rads, so, I am still pretty wore out and don't feel like celebrating too much with others. We will toast the New Year in as I am hoping to heal and feel stronger in 2010. Happy New Year Everyone!

The local and very pretty golf course is having a dinner dance, and we have reservations to go there with 2 other couples. It is only about 6 miles from the house, but we have decided to go by cab! We are getting one of those van cabs for all of us...I am not much of a drinker, though I do love my red wine, and neither is Reggie, but I sure want him to have the option to have too much if he wants to! Tomorrow I am going to try and find a pretty, festive top to wear. I avoided the malls during all of the pre-and post Christmas shopping madness and was successful~ I think 2 days before NYEve should be alright!
Have fun everyone! Be safe and ring in the New Year with Kindred Spirit Style!
Hugs,
Chen♥
So Claudia, do we get to see a picture of you in your new festive top?
And, the malls are still insane. I went to shop till I dropped, but, it was so busy that
I got a few things and fled for my life. LOL

Awww! What a nice husband! Can't wait to hear about your surprise ... if it's one you can kiss and tell about
The building I work in has 46 floors and I work on the 29th floor. Every year our city has a fireworks display so my parents and my husband and I go to the 29th floor and watch the beautiful display from a warm place. Mom and Dad are happy because we don't have to worry about parking, falling on the snow/ice or the crowd or stand out in the cold. This year we are also binging my 5 year old niece and my 4 year old nephew. We will pick up some happy meals and have an indoor picnic while we wait. After that we drive around and look at Christmas lights. Not sure we can do that too well this year with all the snow. Streets aren't plowed as well on the residential streets yet.
Happy New Year!0 -

I try to stay awake to bring in the New Year with **** Clark. My husband is usually snoring away at midnite. However we have done some of the things already mentioned. Neighbors used to get together to play Bunco and that was always fun. Our clubhouse usually has a party every year, and if I'm feeling up to it Hubby and I may just go to the party this year, the clubhouse is about 50 yards from our home. so driving is very safe. all depends on my reaction to my first taxol treatment I received yesterday. Normally with a/C I couldnt even get out of bed on Thursday and Friday following the infusion, so it all depends on how I react to Taxol. If I'm up to it we are going to party this New Years eve, if not I'll just relax and ring it in with **** clark and of course talk to my sons at my midnite.
Several of you talked about Bunco. I have never heard of it. What is it Natly?0 -
