Yes my State of Oklahoma was hit with a blizzard!! I work 2 miles from my house and it took me over 30 min to get home!!! people were getting stuck in the driving lanes!! I saw one lady get out and kick her tire!! I got stuck in my drive way!! but thank God I made it that far!! Also my cable and internet was down AND I was all alone:( No one could go anywhere in this State last night!! So I listented to Christmas music.. drank a few adult beverages...cleaned my house.. took some pics of the snow drift coming up my patio door.. and got things ready for my grandkids visit tomorrow!!

Merry Christmas my Sisters in Pink!!!

How was your Christmas Eve???

I am so glad you made it
I am so glad you made it home safe. It sounds like you made the best of it and got a lot accomplished. After having recurrance with bc this yearI am grateful to be here for Christmas/everyday. We have a small amount of snow on the ground here in Mi. and I woke up to rain. Barely above freezing but should be ok to go visit my grandkids for Christmas. Enjoy your day with your grandkids, everybody stay safe, and have a Merry Christmas. Marilyn

Well - Christmas Eve was bad
Well - Christmas Eve was bad here but the blizzard hadn't yet hit but has now and is supposed to keep getting worse throughout the day and night, finally moving on by noon tomorrow. I-90 is closed east of Box Elder as of now, no travel is advised anywhere and there is no road maintenance (meaning plows/sanding) being done on roads now.

What is kind of sad is that we were planning on going to Deadwood (SD) for Christmas dinner and then playing the "One Armed Bandits" (slots - well I was) and everybody else was planning on BlackJack or Poker. There are 4 men who are Floridians working on remodeling the motel Son is the maintenance man at and they are here away from family and are horrified at the weather here (the BEST days in winter here are far worse than the WORST day back home - FL. So anyway we were taking them up there for a good meal and then fun looks like well have to put it off til tomorrow afternoon late or maybe Sunday.

So far we've lost power several times for a few seconds to a couple of minutes but that's OK - we're prepared - have a kero heater that works great, plenty of kero lights to light the whole house, our stove is an old gas one that works off of a pilot lit light so it works without power, plenty of food though not holiday food - oh well we'll get that as soon as we can get out to Deadwood.

The only worry I have a bit is the horses. I've always boarded them at a heated barn (never got below 32F as their water pipes were not insulated and would freeze and break) but they decided not to heat this year and just turn the water off when freeze inside was expected, so I moved them to a closer cheaper barn. Anyway, keeping them water that is not frozen is next to impossible as there are no plug ins to use tank heaters. Soon I'm taking Hubby 5 gal. Igloo he uses in summer for ice water and taking hot waster from home for them and hope that it melts some of the ice for a while for them - then they will only have about 24 hrs before I can get back to them. They have enough hay out for 3 days so they're OK on that.

Top it off - the electronic thingamajig on my Bronco that switches it to 4X4 decided to quite working last night so I'll have to use my 4X4 3/4t Dodge but he's (My vehicles are "he" and Hubby's are "she") got a bunch of 'stuff/junk' in the bed. Hubby's 1/2t Ford is also a 4X4 that seems to have no problems.

There will be a lot of people having to 'hunker down' for a while from this storm over a large area for some time. Prayers and thoughts to all on the Christmas Day and the ones to come.

    (Sorry for rambling on so)

Merry Christmas to one and all!

    Susan

    Central NY
Here in Central NY the roads were clear and dry. Today however, is a different story. We are expecting a freezing rain storm from 1pm - 10am tomorrow. Luckily my sister's house is only 7/10 of a mile away and she's the one doing Christmas dinner. Hope Everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

    Our Christmas eve was
Our Christmas eve was wonderful. We opened presents and sat around and watched episodes of TopGear. We watched A Christmas Story first. This morning is a beautiful sunny day and we ate our turkey dinner at lunch. Tonight I don't know what we are having. Maybe popcorn and a movie. Merry Christmas!

    My Christmas Eve
My Christmas eve was good--opened presents and had rib-eye steaks, potatoes and broccoli. Only snow on the ground and not a lot. No snow or storms coming in until tomorrow sometime. Should be fine.

Christmas morning watched Jake open his gifts from Santa and then went to my mothers for another tree and a wonderful ham dinner.

Jake and I in for the night--may watch a movie and popcorn and then to be early since Jake was up at 6:45--he usually sleeps until 8-8:30 on a non school day.

    Hey, I'm in Oklahoma, too!
Yep, we've sure had fun with snow this year--a real White Christmas for once! We still got out, though--we have all-wheel drive with a standard transmission, which makes driving in snow much easier!

My dogs are loving the snow--my Golden Retriever has been going out and racing in circles around her older companion "mutt" like a maniac! I tried to get a picture but she's moving too fast. They're like little children--they go out to play until they get too cold, come in and get on their beds and get the ice off their paws, then they're back at the door asking to go out again!

Leave your water running so your pipes don't freeze!

    Merry Christmas from Oklahoma again!
