Thank you for such a quick response. Sorry to hear you are dealing with this. I have hypothyroidism, and it was not easy to get diagnosed. So, I can certainly appreciate what you've been through. She actually has had the antibody test. I don't have it on hand, but the doctor claimed it was 'normal'. Past experience tells me what they consider 'normal' is not always so. Anyway, I will review the report again.
My other daugther's friend was just diagnosed with Hashimoto as well, and finally found a good doctor. I wish you the best with the endocrinologist. Thank you again for taking the time to respond. I'll be watching for others.

I'm doing fine, thank you. Hanging in there. So sorry to hear all that you've been through and are still going through. Sending prayers for you and your Mom. Once I find out what's going on with my daugther, I'll try to post an update. Thanks for your support!0 -
I wish your daugther the best of luck.
I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer this pass June. I had my entire thyroid removed with two surgeries. I recently found out in October that I have a hypoechoic nodule in my neck once again. My doctor did the biosy which came back negative. I am still worried so I can understand what you are feeling. The results said they he submitted insufficient material for them to do a complete evaluation. I thought he would have suggested redoing the test but he didn't. He just basically told me let monitor it and see if it grows or changes. Over the last few days I have been having pains in my neck up to my ears. But I was told to take muscle relaxer and pain meds. Does your daugther have pain? I am seeking a second opinion next week. I hope everything works out well with your daughter. I will let you know what they find out and see if i can offer some other advice.0 -

Thank you, Tamika (is that your name?). I appreciate your feedback. But I'm so sorry to hear that you have to deal with this disease. I've had ovarian cancer twice, so I completely understand what you are going through.
All the more reason I hope this is not my daugther's case. She does not have neck pain, and her familiy physician finally called her back yesterday. He just says to follow up in three months with another ultrasound to see if the nodule has changed. I also showed the report to my oncologist when I saw him Wednesday. He said a one-year follow-up would be in order. Seems like a long time to me, but he was also not too concerned about the nodule. That seems to be his standard approach (wait and see) to nodules, as I have two on my lung (left lobe) that was not there a year ago. Or, at least, was not mentioned on the report. He tells me 'not to worry'.
I'm so glad to hear you are going for a second opinion. Sometimes even a third is justified. As it stands, my daugther really has no concrete answers to her 'ailments'. I still feel it's at least leaning to hypothyroidism, but two physicians don't seem to think so.
My best to you. Sending prayers that your pain will subside and this second opinion will give you some peace of mind and quality care.
(((HUGS)))
