This was my Caring Bridge post today. Celebrate with me!
Well, Well, Well...here we are in December again. Last Dec I was writing about the horrors of chemo and radiation and facing all sorts of unknowns. Today I had a visit with Dr Mark, my oncologist. I was supposed to be scheduling a CT scan, etc for the next couple of weeks. But wait! Dr Mark said NO - you are FINISHED for this year. I do not have to have another scan until SEPT 2010! And I don't have to see Dr Mark until April. OMG - I thought this day would never get here. So...
I am NED (no evidence of disease)
There is ZERO chance of cancer coming back in the rectum because, well, I no longer have a rectum!
The chances of it showing up in the liver now are greatly reduced (almost to nothing)
My ostomy has given me my life back. Heck, today I was grocery shopping, running errands, etc. I forgot to even be tired! LOL!
He said if I want, I can have my port removed!
all in all, a good day.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! Vicki
