I just wanted to thank you all for your posts. I am 52 and have been recently diagnosed with a bladder lession that will be removed on X-Mas Eve morning.

As all of you have, my wife and I have been riding the emotional roller coaster. I just wanted to let everyone one of you know that your posts have been such a comfort.

Good luck to you and what a wonderful Christmas present you will receive when they inform you that all is well and you'll be just fine. I just posted myself yesterday and haven't received a response from anyone as I don't think anyone in this group can relate to our situation. My husband, who is 58, was diagnosed at 50 which stage III lymph node involvement colon cancer. He's here today and has been cancer free and officially cured for the last three years (five year follow-up). He just had recent scans and all was well. Now, he had blood in his urine (two months after scans) and a second scan was done. No tumors evident but after having ureteroscope, found two growths inside his right ureter that look suspecious. All I know is that this type of cancer is very, very uncommon and I can't find a heck of a whole lot of information about it. His surgery to remove the right ureter along with his kidney is scheduled for December 31, New Year's Eve morning. I'm planning on celebrating a bright and hopeful new year and with prayers and God's help, he'll beat this second beast again. Once again, best of luck to you and best wishes.

Bladder Cancer since 2006
I am repying for my Husband who was diagnosed with bladder cancer (Carsinoma insitu) back in 2006. He underwent treatment after a biopsy of BCG. He went through several series of them, continued on a maintainace regement. When he went for the follow-up, he had another biopsy and the cancer was back. The urologist recommended we go to Lee Moffit Cancer and have the bladder removed. On 12/18/09 he talked with the surgen at Moffit, and he suggested the removal. After reviewing the slides of the biopsy, we discussed with him maybe trying the new treatment, now in clinical trials of BCG and Interferon that will be out next month or so.
We are a a delima as what to do. I know the removal will be a life altering experience, and my husband would like to know if there is anyother treatment available. The cancer is contained in the inner layer of the badder. We are at a lose as to what road to take.
You have just completed the surgery, and I hope you are doing well. Since you and your wife have taken this road, we would like some feed back. Thank you,
