Well if things could not get worst, As you know Jack passed and I was finally getting back to work and I was doing home health care, but walmart asked me to come back and so I quit my homehealth job and went to walmart which I made less at but at least I was not care taking, And they told me at walmart I was only temporalily but dont worry they will make sure they keep me, so now I get a call and they tell me they are letting go of all of them temp people, and I am one of them 2 weeks before christmas and just a month after Jack passes, why are companies so cold hearted, but they said I would be the first one they hire back after the holidays like I believe that one, so Im just going to have to go back to the medical field, but no one is going to be hiring till after christmas, I did call the homehealth agency and they are going to see what they can do , but I left without notice so that does not look , Walmart really screw me up, So here I am trying to start all over again and it just not get easy, It is so hard since Jack passed away he would be the one who would say its ok baby eeverything is going work it self out, and we will all be fine, It is so sad to be without Jack, and I was finally getting back on my feet just to get slammed down again, which direction do I go now,

Patty

    Sorry
I'm sorry that things just keep piling up on you. Stores only look at the bottom line these days. Then they wonder where the company loyalty is. I haven't heard wonderful things about Walmart's concern for their employees. I hope something else comes along soon. I hope you have someone nearby that you can talk to. If you don't, consider going to a nearby church. I know you have a expressed a strong belief in God in the past. I don't know where I would be without the support of my church family. You might even see if one near you has a grief group. In the meantime, take care of yourself. Prayers and hugs, Fay

It's my understanding that if you know anyone who is collecting social security that might need assistance with things such as doctors appts, light housework etc you can go through the social security office to work for them yourself. Do you have any neighbors or friends of friends who might need help? Since you're an experienced caregiver it's worth a try.

I also heard that social security uses what's called public authority....do you know what this is?

    Loosing Faith
I dont know what I believe anymore, Im loosing faith, They say Jack is here, well it sure does not feel like it, And I know they say everything happens for a reason so what is the reason for all of this pain, I just want to get back to work, I did call the home health people who I use to work for, They said they have 2 clients and they will get with me, so we will see what happens, I guess it is my direction to do caregiving, I just want to be able to move on , still feel Jack is in my life and have my faith back and I just dont know how to get it all back, Does anyone have any answers to help me , patty

    The U.S. Census is hiring!
    Patty,

The U.S. Census is seeking census takers right now. You can learn how to apply at:

    http://2010.census.gov/2010censusjobs/.

You never know where something like this could lead, an experienced census taker could go into market research or similar data gathering field. It also might be the gateway to secure Federal employment?

    Good luck!

    Faith and Anger
I had a pastor tell me once that being angry with God is a sure sign that you have faith. I know that it is hard to believe in anything right now. I believe that love is a sure sign, too. My church is an open one that encourages questioning, and we all question what we believe in especially at times like this. I can't give you answers. We have a saying that I love. "Whoever you are and where ever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here." I guess what I'm saying is that it's ok to go to church even if you have questions about your faith. I also don't believe that my faith is the only right one. We each find our own way. One of my favorite books was written by a Jewish rabbi. It's called When Bad Things Happen to Good People. It helped both my husband and I get through those dark days after we got his diagnosis. I will continue to keep you in my prayers if that's ok with you. Best of luck with the job hunt. There always seems to be a need for good caregivers. Take care, Fay

    lose faith in walmart
    Patty,

Please dont lose faith, walmart has never been anything but a bottom line store. Some things will get better and some things will get worse, we can only take things one day at a time. I know that's such a line that everyone tells you. but it will.

    Hugs and prayers

    When bad things happen
I have this book right next to me whenever I am at my desk. It is a very supportive book and easy to read. His insight connects with you. I read this book when it first was published and I still pick it up. When I do I find something new. It is a great comfort at times and it has give me a strong faith that the Supreme being (God) does not cause things to happen to us, but is always there to help us get through things. I am glad you mentioned this book and hope others can gain from reading it. Dazey

    Yes, indeed!
    Dazey,

"When Bad Things Happen to Good People" helped inspire me to activism on behalf of the employment rights of cancer patients during the 1980s and insurance rights now. God is reflected in how we respond to the tragedies in our lives and in the acts of kindness from unexpected sources.

    Now, what we need is a book on "When Good Things Happen to Bad People", look out for payback;-}

    Love and Courage!

    so true
and I imagine that book might be considerably larger than the 148 page original! Nevertheless, I am still a big fan of Rabbi Kushner. Love and Courage right back at 'ya, Dazey

Try the library - in this technological age, we sometimes forget that it is there. If your local one does not have it, they can probably get it from an affiliate. I hope you get it. Dazey
