STEROIDS......
Are you taking steroids before each chemo and for 5 days following? I was on Decadron and I PILED on the weight..... Steroids cause weight gain.....they said it is "fluid" from the steroids and it would go away once they are discontinued....I finished in Aug......it took about 6 weeks total for my weight to return to normal....so hang in there! -
I gained weight to
Hi Tracy
I gained weight while having my treatment as the other lady said I had to take steroids which they told me might make me put weight on. I also think that as I was not as active as before I started the treatment that didn't help. I did lose the weight after a time when I finished my treatment and have stayed the save weight since. Please try not to worry as my oncologist told me worry about getting well and let the weight take care of itself. Wish you all the best, keep up the good work.

yepper I gain 10 drop 5 then roller coaster
Nurses speak to me when I drop the wieght but the steroids are to blame. I am inactive now, but my food intake is a bit carefully planned, so I blame the roids.
I had lost 40 lbs 6 months prior to diagnosis, so I figure I'll worry about the new gain when this is all over
