Lumps on and near collar bone

Mom, stage 4 breast cancer with mets to chest wall since 2006, has discovered two new lumps. One on her collar bone, and a larger, sometimes painful one just underneath it. She is quite worried about them. A CT scan is scheduled for Dec. 14th. Has anyone else had these lumps on or near their collar bone??? She had a lumpectomy early on and had chemo and radiation. Had to stop doing the second round of chemo because it was killing her. She now is taking only Arimadex.
God Bless.....

I'm very sorry about your Mom's dx. Never fun to deal with cancer...

The best thing you can do is wait for the CT. Very, very difficult not to jump to conclusions, but try.
Of course, there is no way that I have found to NOT worry, but you sound like such a caring and supportive daughter that she is very lucky to have you in her corner.

I would like to say though, that it is NOT true that cancer lumps are painless. I know from first hand experience...when more than one doc told me "don't worry...breast cancer is NOT painful, so it can't be that"... The truth is that it CAN be painful, if the lumps are close to the skin surface, as they will press on nerves. Many docs aren't even aware of this. Most oncs and breast specialists are. So, don't always let that be your guide when dealing with cancer.

I wish the best for your Mom and for you and I will be sending hugs your way...

I will say a prayer for your Mother too. Cr is right, just wait until the scan and TRY not to worry, even though I know that is impossible.

Also, it is NOT true that cancer lumps are painless, so, don't believe that. So, CR you are right as you lived it.

Good luck to your Mom! Praying for her.

    Hugs, Diane ♥
