Today we had a visit with the oncologist to get the results of the first scan after completing the 12 rounds of Folfox, Avastin, etc. The news, at this point, ,could not be better, onc's words. The lung mets - some have disappeared and the rest have shrunk down considerably. Doc said this was really good news. The liver mets - some have disappeared and the large ones show significant reduction. We did new blood work today but as of the last blood work - everything was looking very good, plateles, liver stuff, etc. Weight, blood pressure, etc. all good.
We are not out of the woods by any means but the news was good and positive. The program now will be, sarting next week, once a week an infusion of 5FU, Leuvicorin (sp) every week adding Avastin every other week. George gets a two week break for the holidays and goes back to the oncologist in January.
Never know, maybe resection(s) in the future for George but for now, we are very encouraged.
