Thank you for that info-I
Thank you for that info-I have been wondering the same-unpleasant taste and texture seem to be getting worse as this goes on. I get treatment 10 out of 12 tomorrow and eating (which was once my second main love-wife #1 of course-in life) has become a real chore. Meat, bread, potatoes and chocolate all are very unpleasant to me THE 4 BASIC FOOD GROUPS. Can do most fruits and canned or frozen veggies -but not fresh. I don't want to eat too much cheese, we all know where that might lead! I've lost 20 lbs. since this started in mid June and it is really encoouraging to know that eating problems might be the first side effect to disappear0 -
Please try to rinse mouth
Please try to rinse mouth with salt and baking soda water as often as you can, this might help.I put a cup of salt and baking soda water in the bathroom,I remind my hubby to rinse his mouth everytime when he goes to bathroom.I also heard that there is a mouth rinse which is called" magic mouth wash" prescribed by oncologist helps a lot too.0 -

Thanks for the tip! Do you mean baking soda and salt in the same drink? And how much? I've used Mary's Magic Mouthwash for thrush early on, and it worked well for that, but didn't do much for me with the taste-texture is probably the bigger issue with me anyway.0 -
Taste
Mine actually is just now starting to come back. Salt and sweet were the only things that I could semi taste and it seemed like I salted everything and it still lacked flavor. I made soup yesterday and it seemed too salty - go figure, so yes, it will come back eventually.

Home made french fries in a flour tortilla and eat it with salsa! Yuumy! Corn tortillas on the griddle with a bit of monterey jack cheese and a dash of tobasco. Collard greens/Spiniach sauted in some onions and garlic, with some banana peppers to give it a kick.
Maybe it was the spice that did it???? It was my sister coming over and throwing things together to find something for me to eat. I also lost 20 lbs, was pretty, thin there for awhile.0 -
