Update on CAT
I think our news is neutral to good. **** had his CAT scan today and I picked up the report this afternoon. I also picked up a copy of the scan for our radiologist friend. The report says stable, no change in size on the enlarged lymph node and everything else was clear. The CAT was chest, abdomen and pelvis. We are very, very grateful for the clear everywhere but we were hoping to see the lymph node shrink in size.
Our radiologist friend said that often times the cancer may die or be dieing off and the lymph node takes awhile to shrink. He also said when chemo is working sometimes things get bigger for awhile and then shrink back down. Our friend looked at the CAT on his fancy machine and agreed that everything but the 1 (SOB) lymph node looked clear.
**** will meet with the ONC on Monday and we believe he will continue to the Folfori and Avastin on Tuesday. I'll keep you updated.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
Aloha,
Kathleen

Lymph node
Kathleen and ****, I'm so happy to hear nothing new showed up!
About the lymph node, the doctor is right. Our Nick had an enlarged node on his scalp because of a puberty caused scalp condition and the node stayed large for 10 weeks after his scalp was cleared. The doctor said a node cn take a very long time to go down and that they never return to the tiny size they were at birth once they've been enlarged.
Still praying for ****'s healing and for your daughter.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for your support, comments and prayers. **** and I were talking about what a toll scan day is for both of us. The prep, scan and the results. After we feel exhausted. I know you all know exactly what I am talking about.
A friend went with me to get the written report on the scan. We picked it up, walked outside, prayed and opened it up. So much rides on these outcomes as you all know. Thinking about you as a group, I think you are all amazing!
Enjoy your weekend. Do something good for yourself.
