Dr. Barbara Goff to Discuss Ovarian Cancer on "The Dr. Oz Show,"
Wednesday, November 11, 2009
Tune into "The Dr. Oz Show" tomorrow to watch SGO/GCF member Dr. Barbara Goff discuss the warning signs of ovarian cancer and what women should do if they have these symptoms. She also will discuss the importance of early detection and the improved chance of a good outcome when women are treated first by a gynecologic oncologist.
Check out your local time and listings.
Also, contact Dr. Oz after the show to share your comments and encourage more coverage of gynecologic cancers. http://www.doctoroz.com/contact
Based upon Dr. Goff's research, the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF), the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, the American Cancer Society and 38 advocacy organizations issued the first evidence-based national Ovarian Cancer Symptom Consensus Statement in June 2007. Dr. Goff is continuing her symptoms research through a grant from the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund in partnership with GCF.
For more information, contact Marsha Wilson at

thanks
Thanks Marge,
I've set my DVR to record the show, it's so rare that our disease is mentioned.
As someone who brought my classic OVCA symptoms to my Internist's attention for 6 months, only to be told it was probably side affects of a med. I was on for arthritis, I know that early detection is so important.
Now I'm staged 4B with relapsed OVCA. If only........

I understand how you feel, it seems all we hear discussed is breast cancer or prostate cancer.
The President's Mother died of OVCA and I wish he'd discuss it on TV, perhaps alongside a doctor who could also discuss it.
I'm also staged 4B relapsed OVCA. I hope you had a good day today.
Feel well,
Jane
