All went well!
Hi Julie,
Thanks so much for thinking of us. All went well with surgery yesterday. The surgeon removed his appendix, ascending colon, and the right side of his transverse colon. Just as the scans had indicated, his liver looks completely clear - as does the rest of his abdomen. So that's a huge relief! We're waiting on the pathology reports to determine if there is any lymph node involvement. Rather than general anesthesia, he had an epidural. They've still got him on the epidural and unfortunately it's caused numbness in his legs, so he's not been able to be up and moving around. He'll be starting on clear liquids in the morning and we're hoping he'll be coming home on Friday.
We both thank you all so much for the prayers and positive energy! I feel so lucky to have such a fabulous support group!
