Stephen Finan, policy expert with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network,
spoke out against the Senate Health Care Bill's waiting period
and it's effect on Cancer Patients.

You can write your Senator about your concerns that a Health Care
Bill include provisions to insure cancer patients who either have had their private insurance denied or who cannot afford insurance and not impose
waiting periods.

The article was on Yahoo News today and can be found at:

You can find the links to write to the U.S. Senators of your state (believe me they will listen to you as a constituent).
at www.senate.gov

Peace and Blessings,
Amy

    There's more to it:

"Senate Finance staffers say the restriction is meant to prevent people switching from more expensive coverage to take advantage of government assistance.

But the House health care bill unveiled last week by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., doesn't include a waiting period. Instead, it would require insurance plans who "dump" seriously ill patients to repay the federal pool. "The House provision will provide immediate relief for people with high-risk conditions who have no alternative for coverage," said Finan."

Working out a decent health care bill that will work flawlessly, isn't
easy for a Nation built on free enterprise. We're going to have to
let go of all our old beliefs that the "system" will fix itself; it never has.

There's a thing called "greed" that's permeated all corporations,
and government agencies as well. We can't fix it all at once, but
we can take whatever start we can get, and go from there.

Any change is better than no change.

    (my opinion, anyway)
