Update on Al
Sorry I haven't kept you all informed of our progress. Al is doing really well now after I had to put my foot down and get his butt moving. He now is on his soft food diet and tolerating it very well. The nurse came today and checked his drainage tube and that is doing very well along with all of his little suture (staples) I even made him walk up and down I few flights of stairs today. He still is very sore inside and that is to be expected. We have a follow up with Dr. Luketich on Nov. 10th and if all goes well he should all holes, drains, and feeding tubes will be a thing of the past.
William thanks for the advice about the old kick in the butt. It worked I just had to show
him who was the boss.(ME).
To all of you who are waiting for your surgery. All I can say is it is worth every minute of it open or IME it doesn't matter.
I still am having a hard time thinking about us as CANCER FREE. I am still worried about
the extra round of chemo and radiation that will come later. All in all I will take it!
There are so many of you on this site who have given me HOPE and INSPIRATION and even a
KICK IN THE BUTT, AND I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE MET EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.
I WANT TO THANK YOU ALL AND TO ALL WHO ARE WAITING OR CAN NOT HAVE SURGERY REMEMBER THERE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE HOPE AND NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT AWAY FROM YOU!!
God Bless!

MUMPHY I AM DISAPPOINTED
Kath,
I am disappointed in you cause you didn't mention your BIG GIRL PANTIES!!!! is part of the reason you are CANCER FREE, GEEZ didn't I teach you better than that. Ha
I am so happy for you, yes sometimes instead of them telling us what to do we have to tell them what to do which is hard, continue to make him walk even if its down the driveway and back thats what they told us, keep up the soft foods, and then graduate to chicken and hamburger meat, eventually he will be where Jeff is today. It is hard to realize they are CANCER FREE!!! and its a little scary at times.
yes its worth the wait, and I agree for the ones waiting for what ever kind of surgery they have chosen, it worth the wait!!! and to Bill Marshall, you are still our MAN, some of us wouldn't be were we are today with out your advice remember that.
I too am blessed to have each and every one of you, and like myself MUMPHY was like a child in diapers when we first signed on to this site.
NOW FOR ALL YOU ONES PULL UP THE BIG GIRL PANTIES AND MOVE ON, just like Mumphy and I did.
Love you guys
