♥◘◘◘ Cancer Book Recommendation ◘◘◘♥
This is a lovely book with healing dialogue between a granddaughter and her grandmother about the confusing world of cancer. It is published by the American Cancer Society. It is called Nana, What's Cancer? It is written by Beverly Hyman Fead. I am posting below, just one of the editorials written about it. I just thought it might interest some of you that have young children or grandchildren that are having difficulty in understanding what cancer is and what you are going thru.
Nana, What’s Cancer?, published by the American Cancer Society, is a conversation between grandmother and granddaughter that addresses the who, what, when, where, why and how of cancer. Specifically written for children ages 8-12, the book is intended to help adults tackle those tough and potentially scary questions regarding the disease in a kid-friendly, simple and honest manner. Starting with the basics of cell structure, Nana, What’s Cancer? guides a young audience through the voyage that cancer takes as it develops and spreads, and provides important information on detection and treatment. It also demonstrates the strengthening of emotional bonds between family members during a very difficult time and the importance of spending time and celebrating with family friends and loved ones.

Thanks
I will certainly look into getting this book. It is hard to find something that is on a kids level and it is hard to explain cancer to children.

I saw this on tv too where the American Cancer Society has published it. So, you know it is good. I am going to buy it too. Kids need all of the understanding and help that we can give them with this.

I love it when we post about books on here. It is always great when they have something to help kids to understand cancer. Cancer is hard enough for us to understand as adults, imagine how they think and feel.0 -
