2nd Round of Chemo completed today

2nd round of chemo completed today. So far so good. The infection has improved somewhat, but will continue on cipro and vantin. I sucked on a piece of hard candy as the nurse flushed my port, and it helped to camoflage the rubbing alcohol taste. I did get a metallic taste from the adriamycin today, and it seems to be lingering. I'm sleepy but not sure the steroids will allow any significant sleep tonite. Tomorrow back for my Neulasta shot. I must remember to take my milk of magnesia tonite or I'll have a case of "Itsa Hertz I mean Hurts". The next 4 days or so will be interesting. I repeat, since I have to go thru all this treatment, I certainly hope I also get to loose the pounds I've been trying to drop for the last 12 years. I used some visualization today when getting my chemo as suggested by Laurissa. Someone on the boards suggested we use it to get rid of fat cells. Hmmm havent tried that one yet.

    Hi, Natly.
    I'm glad you did well today. I just came from my leunasta shot today, too. I haven't had the headaches from the steroids I had last chemo. Hope you don't hurt too bad this week. Take care. I am having insomnia too.

    One more round to check off as DONE!!!

    Good luck on the visualization/weight loss. At least you should get something out of all this yuckiness :-)

    My Second Chemo is Friday...
    It seems there are several of us within days of our second chemo. Had doc appt today and she suggested I start on Alleve early on Sunday (the day I start feeling poopy) and to double up on the Senecot-S to avoid constipation. I will start that on chemo day. I was lucky and was not nauseated at all last time so we are not changing anything there. I'm lucky to have an RN next door that gives me my Neulasta shot.

    Hope you all have an easier time than the first and we are all feeling good within a few days.

    Skeezie I'll be thinking of you. I took claritin for the neulasta shot and it worked really well. Wishing you an uneventful Friday.

    I take Claritin for my allergies every nite, so...
    I must be helping with the neulasta without even knowing it! Thanks for the info!
