nicely said
Karyn, That was nicely said. My Mom takes such good care of my Dad who is sick. She was due to have her knee replaced but had to put it off when he had his stroke. She never complains, she just does what she needs to do. When we found out that his cancer had moved to his lungs, she stood like a rock. She is afraid that if she breaks, he will lose it, and I think she is right. All along, she had know what was going to happen with his cancer. She tried to get him to go for a colonoscopy for years and he would not do it.She had a colonoscopy to show himt that it was no big deal. Finally, the doc at the VA told him to get one or she would give him one in the office. He got one! (go figure). His mother had it, his sister had it and they think his mother's brother had it. Sure enough, stage 3C when it was found. Mom never said a negative word. She cries in private, they have been married almost 50 years. So, she keeps up her positive attitude and encourages him, loves him and prays. Like all of us. God bless you and your husband. Thank you for sharing.0 -

I just posted to toast our caregivers as well at Colonpalooza as well, you are all so right about them, I am blessed with my hubby and children AND pets who give me comfort when needed, food and drink when I'm too tired to get it, and who always make sure I laugh at least twice a day! LOL...my caregivers are my reason for living!
Hugsss!

Thank you for lifting this up and reminding us how precious these relationships are.
Rob; in Vancouver
I am a single man so my mother is my care taker when I need it. sha has her own set of physical problems but still helps me out. She is a saint. I think our care takers get secondary chemo brain and emotional cancer pains.
God bless our care takers.
