Special Episode of Arthur- When Someone you know has Cancer- with Lance Armstrong-
Today I went to a special screening for the Arthur series that is on Public Broadcasting. I was at the Boston Studio for a preview and after the episode was shown in the studio there was a panel of specialist ranging from guidance counselors to Doctors to talk about how kids cope with and understand cancer. Tomorrow, Monday 10/19, this episode will air on all the public broadcasting stations throughout the country, some stations will even show the same show throughout the week because of the importance of it.
I went because the school nurse at my childrens elementary school told me about it and put me in contact with the coordinators. I have a 4 & 5 year old and was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer in February. I will have my children watch this in the AM before school. It is tastefully done and perfect for anyone with a cancer diagnosis and small children in their life.
I posted it here because I have known of several women that were diagnosed with cancer that also have small children and I know how hard it is to explain things to them without scaring them. I hope this helps anyone that needs it.

Hi Lynn
Thanks for adding this additional information to my post. After the screening there was a woman there from the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Could you add this information to my post that is also under Uterine Cancer? I think people would find this very helpful.
Thanks0 -

Jake and I watched it this morning before he headed off for school.
I really liked it.0 -
My kids loved it!!!
My children are 7 and 10. We watched it yesterday and you could have heard a pin drop. Both of my kids were captivated by it. I had to force back the tears a few times. It was so well done that they watched it again this morning before school. The writers did such a great job of creating a scenario for a "mother-like" figure and how the different kids each dealt with the news. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!0 -

Was today's story the same story as yesterday or a different story?
Jake doesn't like to watch the same thing twice.
