Thank you for all the prayers for Casey

My great-grandson, Casey, came home from the hospital last night, and I am so relieved. Your prayers and mine were answered, although we will still have some rough spots to go through. He is one month old today, and has been diagnosed with GERD, and a possible tracial esophageal fistula. They will run an outpatient test on him tomorrow morning for the fistula. He is on a 24 hour heart monitor, as he continues to have spells where he quits breathing. Nerve racking, but should outgrow all of this. I know this is not cancer related, but wanted to share with those of you who were kind enough to be concerned. Thank you all again. Hugs.

    I haven't been on for a while, but I so sorry to hear about you grandson, I will definately add him to my prayer list. I sleep so much lately because of the radiation that I do most of my praying during the treatment, and I will definately include him.

    In a way this is cancer related because it's your great-grandson and you needed support. Hope he gets well soon and outgrows the condition fast. Hugs.

    Anyone on these boards is now related....not "just" cancer related~ so of course everything about Casey and you and your grandchildren, etc etc is important not just to you, but to us! (so there! LOL)

    So glad he is home, even with watch-care. Needless to say, I am happy this is something he can and will outgrow!

    Glad he is home but sorry
    Glad he is home but sorry that there are still issues. We are family and all issues are important. We are more than our cancers and we are here for one another through sunlight and through shadow. I hope that they will be able to repair or treat what is wrong and my prayers as always are with you and the family.

    So happy that Casey is home, but, sorry that there has to be anything wrong with him. Hopefully, he will outgrow it very, very soon! Thanks for keeping up updated Judy!

    I am glad Casey is home, but it still sounds like there are things to worry about...does it ever end??? Guess not, but then again I guess its just life isnt it, and its all good because life is good.

    Hang in there and give him a gentle hug for me

    Judy, so glad that Casey got to come home. I know that will make his parents feel better to have him home now. I will continue to pray for him.

    Judy thank you for the update, it does not need to be cancer related we are friends. I am sorry he still have some bumps to get over and I most certainly will pray for him and the family. Poor little guy has been through so much in such a short time. My prayers are with you!

    This recent post brought me to tears. There are many awful things that happen in life, our cancers are indeed one of them. But when little babies and small children have these problems at birth, it cuts me to the heart. There is nothing more difficult for a parent than to watch our children when they are ill. And for all the family too. I am praying for Casey every day. I hope that they can find what is causing this and repair it, treat it and make him well and strong. Know that my heart goes out to you and all the family. I am so sorry that he is having this struggle.
