Nightmares and bad dreams
I've never had trouble sleeping but this is waking me, sometimes several times a night. Anyone else?
I'm not on any medication and my caffeine intake hasn't increased. Not eating after supper. Don't drink. Hmmmmmmm

Things that Go Bump in the Night
I've been having stranger dreams too Diane. They are not really nightmares but they are often disturbing and from time to time they are about current events. There are SO MANY things that are going on all over the world that are deeply disturbing, it's no wonder they find their way into our dreams.
I seem to sleep hour to hour also. I am on meds for pain and side effect stuff and also I've had trouble with my legs hurting so I know that doesn't help either.
Maybe we need to watch different stuff before bed

I love nightmares, it's like watching a horror movie, which I am a horror fan LOL...sometimes I wake up in a sweat because it was so scary, but they're forgotten about soon after.
Want to hear something scary??? I don't know if you know Tommy Lee from Motley Crue, but HE was in my dream last night, I woke up thinking, "What the hell was that guy doing in my dreams??? I never think about him" LOL...that was scary!
Hugsss!

I think you're right, Phil.
I think you're right, Phil. Monday night I dreamed I was shot right between my eyes. I like the new TV show, Trauma, and a guy on there killed a lot of people that way. That's on from 8 til 9 and I didn't go to bed til almost midnight.
Another night I dreamed our house was overrun by ROACHES. We do get spiders in the house.... Another dream was about hairy armpits. Hubby had paused on the Hispanic channel watching a reality type contest and one of the guys had armpit hair almost to his elbow (okay, I'm exaggerating but there was a HUGE amount of hair). Well, I dreamed I shaved and shaved and couldn't get rid of the hair under my arms. The darn dream woke me!
I woke up one night with my heart pounding and I was breathing so hard from 'running' from something.
I love vampires, mummies and spooky movies, too, Donna. Not really guts and gore, tho. Nick plays Call of Duty and I like to watch him kill Nazi Zombies. LOL
I don't like waking up with bad dreams, tho. I've noticed I try to keep myself awake later at night, too. During chemo, I know I did that to make the time between treatments longer. It's 60 days til my blood work and check up with the Physician's Assistant. I don't think it's that this time.0 -
Nightmares
My Nightmares are usually in response to the sedative/sleep drugs I get while I'm in the hospital. They are horrible. Hallucigenic and extremely frightful!
I think you and Phil put your finger on it when you name the toxic media world we live in.
Perhaps a "media fast" is in order!

My husband also plays "Call of Duty", he has had dreams where the zombies are getting him, often grabbing his ankles. Maybe your brain is grabbing onto some of this stuff and trying to process it during your sleep. Maybe you need to watch an infomercial instead (maybe that would be more terrifying that zombies!)
Might try a glass of milk before bedtime. Hope this calms down soon.

I have them all the time Diane and I also call out and mumble in my sleep. In some ways I think this is just our psyche woking things out. I mean if you consider the trauma, pain, fear, surgery, chemo and constant threat of cancer that most of us live with....maybe our little brains just purr away there at night trying to work things out.
Don't know ...just a thought....
LOL Donna you can have the horror stuff :)

That makes sense. Since they've come upon me a month after chemo ended.... I think you're right. Thanks.
