Stopping chemo

My daughter completed five rounds of chemo prior to her surgery, three rounds of high-dose methotrexate and two rounds of cisplatin and doxorubicin. Her tumor was graded at 100% necrosis when it was removed. Since the surgery she finished one round of cisplatin and doxorubicin and two rounds of methotrexate. She just spent three days in the hospital last week because her left side went numb and then her right arm, then she could no longer keep her seat in her wheelchair and had to be placed on a gurney. The MRI shows white matter changes and the diagnosis was neurotoxicity, she is still having manual dexterity problems with grasping and holding small items.

One of the doctors who came to her room told her that the most important cycles of chemo have already been done, so if the determination was that the chemo was to be suspended or ended it shouldn't be an issue. The n in his report he recersed himself and said that chemo could continue in his opinion, but methotrexate was contraindicated. Another doctor came in and said that stopping chemo was an option, or they could change the chemo, or just give more rescue drugs to try to prevent any further damage.

She was unable to flush the methotrexate in her normal 3-4 days, and didn't get below 0.1 until day six. Her platelets have stayed too low for cisplatin for the past two weeks and even with a transfusion (which she got Friday) her blood counts have stopped rebounding. She's lost 16% of her body weight

Tomorrow we meet with her primary chemo doctor and we're going in with the intent to halt the chemo. Any thoughts?
