You are just AMAZING! I am so glad that you are back home, and with us again. Sorry you had such a rotton time. Huge Hugs Jxxxxxxxxxxxx
I knew that there would be a story here from you. And, as usual, dilivered with humor and ice cream but no handsome doctors. My scar from my hysterecomy is up and down from belly button to well down there. I think that the side to side is more uncomfortable and you really want to do nothing for the whole time they told you. And, remember, no vacuuming, ever, ever again. At least, that's what I heard them tell me. Glad you are home.
Your hubby is probably right about the weight and IV's. Everytime I have been in the hospital I have come home heavier (even with no eating) but lost it all. So hopefully, you will too. Hope all is okay with the path on this so that this is the end of treatment. And I hope that you don't have much in the way of menopausal stuff. If it helps to know, I didn't have any with my my hysterectomy or from the arimidex but we are all different. No beard either. Rest, recouperate and definitely don't do anything more than they want you to do. My prayers are with you for a speedy and normal (for you) recovery. But as everyone else has noted, you are truly one in a million.

Pammy, Pammy,Pammy.....truly
Pammy, Pammy,Pammy.....truly sweetie, you really need to get out more! All of your staying home and only connecting with this invisible cyber-family had given you flights of fancy and makes you tell the most outrageous stories! One in a million, indeed! That could not be further from the truth! Everyone of us in here knows you are completely unique and one of a kind~ in all good and wonderful ways!
I know being home and not even being able to scoot ( I agree...HUH???) is no picnic for you,not to mention an ice cream moratorium. But you will recover, and won't you have stores to tell on the beach next summer in your string bikini and zipper scar!
Post when you can!
Hugs,

Hi Pammy
I am so glad you got thru your surgery, but it sure wasnt an easy feat was it??? How do you remain so upbeat is what I want to know...
I think the christmas cards are a good idea while youre down...also may want to settle down with a few good books and some videos and let your body mend.
Hang in there girl and welcome back...we missed you
Hugs

Pammy,
yes, you are one in a million, but in a good way. Funny, my docs always said that to me too the ...hmmm, that never happened before... but honestly, it just makes us appreciate the advances in medicine, so that they can still fix it. So, I am happy you are home, patchwork tummy and all. The weight gain is really just baby fat, and will fall off as soon as you are "all growed up". Which may not be for quite some time. Rest and take it easy. Post when you feel like it.

A "simple" outpatient surgery?
Not really! I'm always a skeptic, anyway...
So glad you're home, Pammy; but, so sorry for the complications. Though your surgeon sounds wonderful, thank goodness.
Four weeks of "doing nothing" (no scooting?!? - can't quite get over that one) could be tedious. Yet, your body will be busy recovering. So, rest and NAP! Naps are magically healing. :-)
Get the fat-free ice cream. It's pretty good. But, once you open the carton - gotta finish it up fast. Which ain't a bad thing.
Take good care, hugs backatcha. Got all fingers and toes crossed for clear path report results. Please let us know when you can.
Kind regards, Susan0 -

LOL Pammy you sound like you
LOL Pammy you sound like you could be my twin. I've always been the one in a million. Glad you made it through and I know exactly how you feel having gone through the tram flap myself. Make sure you drink lots of water because those pain meds do a number with constipation. Hugs, Lili0 -

Hi Pammy
I'm new to the boards and your story was a great inspiration. After my chemo I'll be having a bilateral mastectomy and my ovaries will be going too. Hope I'm not the other one in a million, ( I had a hysterectomy a few years ago, all but my ovaries) however; if I am the one in a million I hope I can have as good a spirits as you have!! I grabbed my cup of coffee, read your story, and smiled at your great humor and strength. I know what that zipper feels like and it's not fun, I came home with the zipper and a "pee bag" my bladder was reconstructed in the process because of scar tissue. I didn't let it slow me down, I was weeding my garden the day I came home (the pain meds made me do it), big mistake, don't recommend it. Now I know when the dr. says no activity they mean no activity not even "scooting". Hang in there Pammy and thanks for your great story it was very inspiring and wonderful so hear your AWESOME attitude shine through your words.
Prayers for a speedy recovery,

I'm So Glad
That you are home and on the mend. Your story is truly inspirational and hilarious! When I was on chemo and nothing tasted like anything, I used to suck on frozen fruit bars. I know this is not the same, but it did help some with the ice cream craving. I don't know if it will help, but its worth a try. Can't get any clearer than ice?? Pammy, feel good, do what the doctor says, and you made a million smiles today!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery
Thanks for keeping us posted. Am so glad that you are done with this whole ordeal and are at home sleeping in your cozy bed with your hubby and son by your side. You're a sweet gal and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone!
Reading your responses, picturing your smiles, and hearing your sweet kind words made me feel so good (Big grin!). I am having a bit rougher time today (physically & emotionally). I know it is temporary and that I am just going through the "down" part of the ups and downs. But just want everyone to know how much you all keep me going when the going gets rough! Big hugs....♥Pammy0 -

Simple procedure and VickiSam do not go together. Anything that's been a part of my breast cancer diagnosis - any procedure - test and even my port installation included has been a nightmare.
I am so very sorry about your 'simple' procedure. Thank our Lord that you survived, and have suck a wonderful outlook, and positive attitude. I pray that you exceed your doctors expectations and recover quickly. Ice Cream always helps .. seriously!
Take it slow ... and don't push yourself for the first few days. Take several naps a day, and enjoy your husband and son, TJ. What an awesome family you have at home, and by the looks of the postings here .. you have a wonderful group of women here to support you as well.
Take care,
