Hello everyone, Just checking in while my family gets ready to go out to dinner, we are in Sandestin on a trip that was set up for the Jack and Jill Foundation...It is for late stage cancer, very depressing but I thought it would be nice to get away. Anyway I am feeling like crap. My back is hurting and my liver feels sooo tender. My last pet scan showed that my tumors were shrinking but why is it hurting. My stomach hurts and everything I eat is making me feel yucky. I have had a right upper back pinching and pain, this has been hurting about two weeks before I went to the ER with my liver pain. PattiDoes anyone have pain like that with stage 4?

    Not now
My husband had pain in his liver before he found out about the cancer. He thought it was his galbader. This is how our journey started. When he started Chemo the pain got better and now he isn't in any pain at all. Hope someone can help you. Paula

    back pain
The upper back pinching and pain could be from stress. When you have pain elsewhere, like you do in liver area, it makes you hold your body tight, also you are so stressed and worried about your situation. I bet there might be a massage therapist if you are in a resort area, that could help your upper back. For me, that is where a lot of my stress lands, in the upper back. If you can do it, try to roll your shoulders back, so your shoulder blades come together in the back. Do this off and on, and some shoulder rolls, this is what I was taught to do when in physical therapy. I hope you get to feeling a little better and can relax and enjoy your vacation more.

    Pain/Back Pain
    Hi:

Sorry that you are having all this pain. The trip sounds nice. I too have this kind of pain and have had it since before I was diagnosed. There's this one particular place in my right mid to upper back area that can hurt a good bit at times. Right now it seems that most of my back and upper torso area are hurting. I'm stage IV colon cancer with liver involvement. After I got on chemotherapy the pain got better. Lately it has come back and it has been pretty bad. I just has CT scans Friday so I don't have the results yet but my oncologist thinks the tumors in my liver are growing again so this is probably why I am having more pain plus some other symptoms. I've been on Lortab but because of the tylenol the doc has stopped that and put me on morphine. It is helping. Even with your tumors shrinking this could be causing the right sided pain. Just a thought. Are you on any pain medicines? I hope you get some relief soon as I understand what this is like. Feel free to private message me if you want. Take care. Roy

    Back Pain
I agree with Pam about it could be stress. I did not have mets to the liver, but constant worries about the situation caused my back pain. A massage did help as well as well as a hot tub. Try to relax and enjoy. I am in Destin for work and enjoying the area on my down time. Never give up!

    Pain
I have some back pain if I am on my feet longer than normal (been trying to do more everyday) and it feels just like stress. If I go lay down or sit down it gets better. Sometimes you can pull a muscle without even realizing it and that can hurt for several weeks too. I hope you feel better soon.
