Hi everyone!
I am a 6 year survivor of RCC. I had a radical nephrectomy in July 2003. At the time of diagnosis, my only symptom was blood in my urine by testing, not visible. My first CT scan showed nothing. The following year, a mass showed on ultrasound.
My concern is this. I recently saw my nephrologist to check my kidney function. He tested my urine and found blood. My first reaction was to cry. This was my presenting symptom before! Could it be back? I had a CT scan which was clear, but I just fear that it did not show up. I am scheduled to have an ultrasound in 3 months, but I just don't know if I can wait that long. It's an aweful feeling to think that cancer may be back in your body. Has anyone out there had a similar experience?
Thanks so much and this community is wonderful!
