HUSBAND RUSHED TO ER, I HAD TO PUT MY BIG GIRL PANTIES BACK ON AGAIN
I had to rush my husband to the hospital this afternoon, we had the grandkids for the day and I left to take them home and got a call about 3:30 and said hurry get them off, i need to go to the emergency room, I have something stuck in my throat and cant even swallow my own spit. Now keep in mind i live 45 min out of the city , so here i am clear across town, and dropping my kids off, threw them in the house, jumped in the car and rushed home, he had already thrown up was breathing but heavy and couldn't even drink water. I hurriedly got him in the car and drove again into town, and got him to the hospital, they called in all his doctors did a EGD on him, as they were checking to see if the tumor was back but glory behold he had a peiece of meat stuck right in the middle, and not really sure how long it had been there said it was gross, but they were able to get it all and able to send him home, they think his esophogaus is being constricted now, since he is 2 months post op and some scar tissue is developing so we will have to go see our specialist on that so that they can get that taken care of. I am so thankful we were able to solve it and not have to stay the night. He is in pain though and very wore out. I am staying home once again with him tomorrow to make sure everything is okay.
With that being said, I had to pull my "BIG GIRL PANTIES OUT FOR THE NIGHT" to be able to get him through this. I was so SCARED!!! I wasn't sure what was going to happen.
So not only did I dance in the rain tonight I also had to put back on My Big Girl Panties.
Well wish us luck
Love and hugs

I am glad everything turned out ok. The esophagus can get strictures, and may just need to be dilated. I think sometimes patients need to get the esophagus dilated a few times after surgery. I haven't ever had to have that done yet. Good luck!!! Glad everything is ok.

Er
Lori,
Boy glad they got that out!! You must have been so scared and hoping they could help at the hospital. I wonder if they ever stent the new esophagus? I was actually going to ask if after surgery you can eat meat? I saw something where people were saying they could not eat meat after the surgery? I think you always have those big girl panties on cause you handled this crisis so well. Glad Jeff did not have to stay overnight and hopefully no more trouble!! take care, love and prayers,

Hey Lor,
I know you had to be very scared!!! Do you still have your appt. on the 1st? If you do make sure they know what happened and ask how to prevent it. You know all of this. Just pull up those BGP for the day.
Good Luck on Thursday
Talk to you soon
Lots of Hugs & Prayers

fear of the unknown
Hi Moe * Papa, I have cancer of the vocal cord and as of today found out it has gone to Stage IV. Be honest with you I have some mix emotions and not sure what I am feeling but the whole weekend with the fear of the unknown was worse for me. Whenever you are battling any type of disease the fear of the unknown is the worse. thank God he got thru it and no major issue. Keep prayer and hope alive.

Hi there its nice to meet you, I am so sorry about this ugly disease we call Cancer, I certainly hope its operable is it? If my husband had to do it again he probably would I don't know. He is lucky it had not gone to his vocal cords, he was stage 2 and not mets, you don't say wheather it has metasized. Can you tell me more so maybe I can help you and try to help you. You have come to the perfect site for answers and questions. I hope and pray to GOD that you will get through this.

Kim,
Its is such a pleasure talking to you, You are so right once you go through EC you can handle anything little, small or big, I really hope I help you and all the others cause in the beginning I wasn't this strong, i was a little bird trying to hatch, but I have grown up more now, and just about can handle anything. I am here for anybody that has quesitons. I would love to read about your dad on the caring bridge if you tell me how to find it. This is an awesome pic of you two, enjoy every moment with him, mine is gone and I miss him so much. Its hard being a wife but more being a caregiver to someone with cancer. Just remember its just a BUMP in the road, and "life isn't about waiting for a storm to pass its about learning how to dance in the road" by Kitten 0385.
