how do you get private messages?

Hi
I got an email saying I had a private message but don't know how to get it? Does it mean just a new posting on a post that I wrote? my brain is not working on all cylinders lately!! thanks in advance!

    when you sign on right below the discussion board there is a block that says "new Mail" just click on that and you should get it or if it says you have private new message just click on it and it should bring it up

    any quesitons let me know
