supplemental vitamins

Has anyone gone to a Naturopathic? My cousin's wife had Leukemia about 15 years ago and she was in a trial treatment. She was given high doses of vitamins before her chemo and radiation and supposedly was in the group with the best remission/survival rates. Has anyone tried vitamin therapy with their cancer treatments and did it help?

    Naturopathic Dr.
I am seeing one who was recommended by my Oncologist. This ND specializes in cancer and even did his residency at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. I see him for the first time next week.

Do you have any updates since your last post on this topic? I was wondering about taking supplements but onc says not to. I would love to know if you did this and had any positive results.
    Thanks!

I have not had any other replies on this, but some research that I have done suggests that taking vitamins also strengthens the cancer cells and makes them more resistant to treatments. I don't know how true that is, but I didn't want to chance it and decided to just try and eat better :>]. Anyone else??

    Hi Cat,

My onc has aalways said to stay away from vitamin suppliments when you are in treatment. I too have read that cancer cells love vitamins. And that cancer patients shouldn't be doing suppiments at all. So eating well is probably the best defense.

Hi Leslie! Thanks for the reassurance that I'm on the right track. It sure does get crazy with all the different studies and opinions. Take Care! Cat
