Here's another couple of songsstayingcalm said:Audio hug
Chillout, from zefrank, written at the request of a girl who was having trouble coping with changes in her life. You can read the story behind it and then listen to the song, or listen to the song and then read the story, or just listen while you read the story It's a very sweet song, an "audio hug", as the young lady calls for.
that came to mind.
First one is from the movie "Toys" with Robin Williams...it's the starting song, it's for Christmas, but it's still valid for all of us.
Performed by The Musical Cast of Toys Featuring Wendy & Lisa
If I cannot bring you comfort
then at least I bring you hope
for nothing is more precious
than the time we have and so
we all must learn from small misfortune
count the blessings that are real
let the bells ring out for christmas
at the closing of the year
let the bells
ring out for christmas
at the closing of the year
If I cannot bring you comfort
then at least I bring you hope
at the closing of the year
at the closing of the year
at the closing of the year
The other is a song by Massive Attack, a group that has many powerful songs, but this is one of the best, "Protection"
This girl I know needs some shelter
She don't believe anyone can help her
She's doing so much harm, doing so much damage
But you don't want to get involved
You tell her she can manage
And you can't change the way she feels
But you could put your arms around her
I know you want to live yourself
But could you forgive yourself
If you left her just the way
You found her
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
You're a boy and i'm a girl
But you know you can lean on me
And I don't have no fear
I'll take on any man here
Who says that's not the way it should be
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
She's a girl and you're a boy
Sometimes you look so small, look so small
You've got a baby of your own
When your baby's gone, she'll be the one
To catch you when you fall
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
You're a girl and i'm a boy [x4]
Sometimes you look so small, need some shelter
Just runnin' round and round, helter skelter
And I've leaned on me for years
Now you can lean on me
And that's more than love, that's the way it should be
Now I can't change the way you feel
But I can put my arms around you
That's just part of the deal
That's the way I feel
I'll put my arms around you
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
You're a boy and i'm a girl [x4]

I like " It's a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong
see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.
The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin......i love you.
I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
(instrumental break)
The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin...*spoken*(I ....love....you).
I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
*spoken*(you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than Ill never know)
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

I am not a cancer patient, however my father is.crovn said:Music
Music helps me cope too, my Ipod has been my life since my mom got diagnosed 10 months ago. I have found a lot of songs. Here are a few, if you need help finding some songs let me know!:)
(I put some good parts of the song below the song title)
You're Not Alone by Saosin
-You're not alone
There is more to this I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell
Again I Go Unnoticed by Dashboard Confessional
- Please tell me you're just feeling tired, cause if it's more than that I feel that I might break.Out of touch. Out of time.
Arms Around Me by Hawk Nelson
- When I hurt You, I never meant to hurt You. I'm just trying to work through things in my life. Emotions can be mean and I didn't really mean it. I never stopped believing in the truth. I'm not big on waiting. I could use some patience. This time I'm not afraid of losing
Wrap Your arms around me I know.Trying hard not to let go.Every time I stand up, I fall without You. When You wrap Your arms around me I know with me wherever I go. Nothing else matters at all when You're here
Do You Feel by The Rocket Summer
-I'm thinking about other things I heard about today
All this week and tomorrow
And how these hands can create some better things for bettering
but you see for now I got my own things
I can't help it
I got too many issues I own
So I cannot help I'm afraid, yeah
But keep on preaching, preaching and heal the world
Lip service makes us look great
Do you feel
The weight of the world singing sorrow
Or to you is it just not real
Cause you got your own things
Yeah we all have our things I guess
Holy My Heart by Tenth Avenue North
-One tear in the driving rain,
One voice in a sea of pain
Could the maker of the stars
Hear the sound of my breaking heart?
One life, that's all I am
Right now I can barely stand
If You're everything You say You are
Would You come close and hold my heart
I Will Not Bow by Breaking Benjamin
The Lost Get Found by Britt Nicole
Oceans from the Rain by Seventh Day Slumber
Rain by Creed
I found out crovn and I have the same taste in music. Do You Feel also helps me through a lot. A song I haven't seen here yet is:
Save You - Simple Plan.
"Take a breath, I pull myself together.
Just another step until I reach the door.
You'll never know the way it tears me up inside to see you..
I wish that I could tell you something to take it all away.
Sometimes I wish I could save you,
And there's so many things that I want you to know.
I won't give up 'til it's over.
If it takes you forever, I want you to know..
When I hear your voice,
It's drowning in the whispers.
It's just skin and bones,
There's nothing left to take.
And no matter what I do,
I can't make you feel better.
If only I could find the answer to help me understand..
If you fall, stumble down, I'll pick you up off the ground.
If you lose faith in you, I'll give you strength to pull through.
Tell me you won't give up,
'Cause I'll be waiting if you fall.
You know I'll be there for you.
If only I could find the answer to take it all away.."
It is written about the singer's brother with cancer. I can relate to it so much!
I am planning on making a CD for my father with these kind of songs, for when he is having a rough day. Thanks for the songs everyone!0 -

Help is on the Way
It's my wife that is fighting the beast, but I need the songs too. The full lyrics are in my profile:
Don’t give up the ship
Even when you feel it’s sinking
And you don’t know what to do
Don’t give up your dream
Even though you may be thinking
It never will come true
Life has it’s own ideas of how things come about
And if you just hang in there, life is gonna work it out
Help is on the way
From places you don’t know about today
From friends you may not have met
Yet
Believe me when I say
I know
Help is on the way0 -

Imagine” John Lennon 1971
This is a dedication to all cancer survivors & to the memory of the ones who have passed.
(I modified some of the lyrics below to reflect the hope towards a cure for cancer)
Imagine there's no cancer
It's easy if you try
No hell to go thru
Only a path to peace
Imagine all the people
Living without fear
Imagine there's no chemo
It isn't hard to do
No one would suffer or die
And no surgery too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no deadly tumors
I wonder if you can
No need for sorrow or tears
All of us joining hands
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the joy
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Heart of Soul two time cancer survivor and caregiver
I love your version of Imagine some friends are having a benefit for me and asked me to sing a couple of songs looking for some pertinent and fairly easy to learn. The benefit is on the 22nd of June so they can't be too hard. I play and sing OK probably sng better than play at this point. Any suggestions would help. I kind of got put on the spot and it grew. I don't mind but I hgave short time. (for the songs that is) everything else is going great. I have 4 brain tumers and I am takin my last radiation treatment Monday then off everything for a month. So I hope I feel good for Friday.
Thanks

Music to calm the wild beast....
Hello everyone !
I have favorite groups..but unless on radio, can't quote. 70's child here, so love all rock and to my poor husbands ears, I sing loudly to all the old favorites ! After rads, and crappy reaction my voice sounds like a frog. Heee...heee would love to go for karokee contest just for the giggles....might get things thrown at me. Yes, can relate more to music now and if we let it....it will lift us all up. Regards to all, Katie0 -

I'm surprised it took almost a year for someone to mention Tim McGraw's song - it's practically a classic for cancer diagnosis. And I almost missed this posting - I was going to say I was surprised no one had posted it!
Another of my favorites when I'm feeling a bit low is Gloria Gaynor's "I will Survive". Yeah, I know it's about a break-up but isn't dying from cancer the biggest break up there is?

WHAT FAITH CAN DO...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTNBWv33-QI
"What Faith Can Do" by Kutless
Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes
And make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think it's more than you can take
But you're stronger
Stronger than you know
Don't you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining
I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do
It doesn't matter what you've heard
Impossible is not a word
It's just a reason
For someone not to try
Everybody's scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It'll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing
I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do
Overcome the odds
You don't have a chance
(That's what faith can do)
When the world says you can't
It'll tell you that you can
I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do
That's what faith can do
Even if you fall sometimes
You will have the strength to rise0 -

Way up high,
And the dreams that you dream of
Once in a lullaby (Ai)(Oh) Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dream of,
Dreams really do come true (ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh)Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me(Oh) Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dare to
Oh why, oh why can’t I (hai hai, ai ai ai)Well I see trees of green and red roses too
I watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful worldWell I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white
And the bright bliss of day I like the dark

Are also on the faces of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They’re really saying I, I love youI hear babies cry and I watch them grow
