Treatments are Completed
I thank you all for your prayers and thoughts as I went through my chemo, but please keep me in your continued prayers as you know, more tests and doctors appointments are still ahead.
My surgeon was just waiting for me to finish chemo to do the ileostomy reversal and I go see him on the 13th of October so I should know more then. Should be an easier surgery than the resection.
Hugs! Kim

well done Kim. That is such a major accomplishment to get through all that chemo with undiminished doses. The oxy really is a kicker so you have done so well.
Take a little well deserved break.
All best wishes,
~mags~

Kim,
Glad you made it all the way through, I just went to treatment #2 yesterday. The Oxy is starting to kick in. I was doing fine with cold, but now it's begining to be a small problem. I was at the Docs all day yesterday so I went and got something to eat, forgot to swish the cold drink around to warm it up. It felt like I was swallowing sharp rocks. It's nice to hear you can make it all the way through with no reduction in the Oxi. Thanks for the inspiration to do the same if I can. I wish you well in your NED future.

Way to go!
Congrats! My neuropathy has worsened quite a bit in the last month since ending my 12th treatment. Typing is quite difficult. It HURTS and I am not sure how hard I'm striking keys so many words are missing letters. I can deal with my knees down.... but my hands ... I drop soooooo many things every day.
Hang in there! Maybe someday this will just seem like a bad dream. )0 -
CONGRATULATIONS !!!!
Well Kim
I tip my hat to you! You're much stronger than me - you did what I could not.
Good thing I'm not a doctor, 'cause my diagnosis was incorrect...your infusion times did not get pushed back too far like mine did - you are so tough.
Platelets dropped but not enough to stop you - I'm glad I was wrong in my assessment. You are a true warrior.
You even took the WBC shots like a pro and just one Neulasta broke me. I suppose I could have done them again if it was absolutely necessary. But I worked and was trying to miss as little time as possible so they would not fire me and those shots hurt and knocked me down for days on end; actually worse or as bad as the Oxy itself - doing chemo and working was a hard one.
You are absolutely still in my prayers. As I'm riding along with everyone, it's amazing to see everybody get started and get finished and all of the success stories that are out there.
You are an amazing lady to me.
Continued best to you!

That is a super milestone for anyone to acheive. Now , it will seem like you have kind of been abandoned because of all the people that will release you from their grip (ONC and NURSES.) but you have made a tremendous leap in your journey, and for that you deserve the break you are fixing to get.....again congratulations sweetie, you have certainly deserved it......Clift0 -

Wow - You all are wonderful
Yup after I wrote this post we went to a cottage for the night - just wanted to get away. It was nice to get away from the house and just get some peace, and get my mind off of things even if it was for a short time.
I decided that I'm going to go to the casino and spend $30 Haven't been there in quite some time but I'm sure that they are still in the business of taking peoples money.
I'm still going to take my blood test every week to make sure that counts are going up. I'm sure just finishing chemo they are going to tank again and that it is going to take quite some time, probably months and months for things to look better. Craig, I think you are right about the immune system being compromised, because my platelet count is taking longer and longer to come back and I've had to take so many shots just to get my white blood count up.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts, and for all your responses also. I'm so fortunate to have found such a wonderful family as you all. I'm forging on - with everyone's help of course.
Hugs! Kim0
