My dad, 91 years old, has lung cancer spread to liver and lymph nodes around esophagus. he is having a needle liver biopsy tomorrow and they may insert a port for chemo at the same time. by Friday we will know what kind of cancer it is and they will start chemo. he is very weak and confused. Is the liver biopsy painful? How about the port insertion? Just wanted to see if anyone has been through these. His age is against him but he is strong and works 15 hours a week. But I know the reality and want him to have the best quality of life left as possible.
