Day 6 of Sue's Rads

Even though I am just starting, it was nice to have 3 days off from rads. Everyone at the cancer center was in a great mood and had a great holiday. I talked today to a woman that had her grandfather there. She is a nurse, so, she was getting a bit technical about his treatment. He is doing chemo and rads at the same time. But, he isn't getting rads everyday. He is a big guy, but, in a wheelchair. He was in a great mood and talked very openly to anyone and everyone. I think sometimes having cancer makes us nicer, as we realize how precious life is, and, we realize that even a kind word or a smile can alter someones mood or even their life.

My zapping went ok today. The cute tech is so nice and so much of a gentleman. I am young, but, he always takes my hand after the zapper is done and helps me to sit up. Then, he ties my gown in the back even sometimes. I told hubby about this and he just smiled, hmmm, wonder what that is suppose to mean. I am not at all modest anymore. When I come out of the dressing room to go in for my treatment, I never even tie it. lol Still no redness or pinkiness, so, that is good!

    sounds like you are getting to know everyone there, which is great. I bonded big time with my techs and with my radiation oncologist. You just continue the way you are and you will be fine.

    They are really great techs.
    They are really great techs. And, it is always the same ones. I think I have seen on here where some have different ones. And, they always have food to eat. lol This one tech is always baking something and sharing it with us. And, she can cook!

    LOL. Welcome to the double, or in your case, quadruple posting on the site. It happens when the site is slow and you click on Post Comment more than once. We all do it. LOL But, yours was funny.

    Glad you had a good day at rads. I really liked my team too and loved my rads oncologist. He is just the best. He is in charge of most of my medical care as he makes my husband and I feel so secure with him.

    It sounds like your rads are going fast for you and that you are getting thru them just fine. I hope that will be my case when I start.
