I don't think you can ever push the panic button too soon. I was having a mammogram every 6 months for 2 yrs. Thats why I caught my bc early, but not early enough not to have chemo and I'll have surgery to follow. It's your body and you are the one who should make the decisions! Best of Luck, Diane0 -

Thanks you guys...I had my first mammo June 1 and it showed an area of microcalcifications so I had a sterotactic biopsy June 30 and to be honest I'd like to have another mammo next week but I'll be happy with having one every 6 months. I just don't think I can wait til next June.0 -

Long before I had this breast cancer, I showed an area of microcalcifications that were biopsied stereotacticly and it was fine. I went a year before my next mammo and it was fine and so were many others. When my cancer showed up on my mammo several years later, it was in another area and was a lump. So waiting a year, while possibly stressful for you should be fine. But if you really want to have a mammo in six months and they won't schedule it you you could call and say you feel something and aren't sure what it is. I know that is cheating but they will usually do a mammo if you say you feel something even if they can't feel it. Just a thought.

Microcalcifications can be a sign of something going wrong, so, keep an eye on that. I would think your onocologist would want you to have a mammo every 6 months. Mine does. Good luck!
