Had my checkup yesterday. CA125 has gone from 199.8 to 36.3 after two complete cycles (1a&b and 2a&b). Praising the Lord that chemo (gemzar/cisp) is working this second time around too.
Ill defined mass on left side (rectosigmoid junction) is somewhat smaller by physical exam.
White counts staying up due to Neulasta (neunasty), but platelets are not recovering good enough to continue at current dosage, etc, etc. So now looking to see if insurance will cover Neumega shot for low platelets.
Have not been on much lately. Feeling weak week of chemo and kicking butt week off!! But God is good all the time, all the time God is good.
Have the opportunity to share my testimony Tuesday, September 15th at our church for Ladies Luncheon. It is National Ovarian Cancer month and I was asked to share. Excited to share what the Lord has done in my life and continues through the circumstances we are in and continue to be in. But He is faithful!
"Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father - to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen" (Rev. 1:5-6).

PTL!
Libby:
So pleased to hear of your positive progress, and inspired by your strongth faith and joy! I heard someone on the radio talk about 'happiness'. I emailed a response, saying that happiness comes from 'happenings', and that when things are going well, people will be 'happy'. But when we have negative 'happenings', it's difficult to muster up the strength to be happy. JOY, on the other hand, is ever-present. And I believe, at least for me, it would be impossible to have joy without faith. Even through the midst of the 'negatives', I can have joy knowing the the Lord is with me, and His promises abound. 'The Joy of the Lord is my strengh!'
Have a wonderful day, Libby, I'll pray for continued success with these treatments. Thank you for sharing the good news!

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Singing Praises :-)
Libby that is wonderful news, I am singing praises to the Lord for the blessing in your life. Wish I was closer to hear your testimony. Also please note that advil makes your platelets stay low or causes them to drop too so hopefully you haven't taken any advil.
I just found that out from my chemo nurse.. all these years later still learning.

Wow, what a drop!
Libby,
Congratulations on that awesome drop in your CA125!! I'm also so glad you were able to share your story during Ovarian Cancer month - you go, girl! I just finished 3b, won't get my CA125 run again until 4a on Sept. 17. Will let you know then. It seems that the gem/cis combo is an effective one.
Love and hugs, Carol0
